why there are so many skipped maintaince?
Aion dying, less income, maintenance team costing money. Prob that's why.
Galeas will prob say something like: "We have had many wednesdays where we didnt have maintenance because no events would start."

- NC has fixed most of annoying bugs. Aion software is fit to run a rocket to Mars
- NC and GF have now services that run in hot. Aka they can make maintenance without service interruption (transparent maintenance)
- GF has migrated Aion on top-notch new server and materials, and currently require less maintenance
- Sysadmins are in holidays again
- Sysadmins have COVID
- Sysadmins are restricted at home
- Datacenter access is restricted because of COVID, so except emergency, no maintenance
- No event, no new content, so GF doesnt bother to use remnant Aion budget for maintenance
- Aion results were bad, so GF is currently cutting maintenance costs

Man i cant find the post been stated by you guys in the past saying Maintenances are a MUST for server to be running smoothly ,how times change.

Of course maintenances are a must. Nothing changed. They are necessary, that is for sure. It doesn't mean they are needed every week, it means they are needed regularly. There is a difference.

To be fair, when it came to maintenances you guys where always doing a very good job.
Its only logical that you can reduce their amount by now.

Maybe there's a simple answer to this question or it has already been answered and I missed it, but I'm very curious.
Why doesn't GF do the maintenance after 12AM? It's really weird to see that the game is not working usually for 1 day/week, and doing it past midnight would solve this problem.
The only logic I see for why this wouldn't be the case is:
- If it costs them more to do it after midnight than at 9AM. Which I can't understand, because the extra costs would be like pennies. And in return you probably will make more money from players who actually play during the day, so they will even themselves out.
- If the playerbase is bigger after 12AM than after 12PM, which it may be in weekends, but during the week I just can't see it being the case.

Many systems have reset: 9AM without day of maintenance or 8AM with maintenance. I am afraid about that systems will not get reset, if maintenance would like be in midnight.

Dunno how's in Germany but in France, working outside of your standard working hours (not in a regular basis like our beloved nurses) may give +25 to +50% of wage (for the relevant hours only) (or free time according to what you asked for). Not pennies.
And most players are student/workers who works on day (except COVID or unemployed), so most mainly play on the evening or at night in weekdays.
You avoid doing majors operations with a limited team. In case of unexpected issues, will be hard to wake up relevant people to fix things in emergency. And rolling backs are not always possible.
In IT, many operations are done by side companies (subcontract). Ask them to do something out of standard working hours and they are happy to charge you.

I actually was not aware that a maintenance was a major operation. I always thought it was like a really long server restart, but it may be more complicated than that I guess.
I'm still curious tho if the cost to do the maintenance at night would be mostly paid for by the sales they generated within the mid-day Wednesday, but it's impossible to know without speculating.

How to update the game today? I tried 15 times. Still the same error during "confirm" stage ...

Who the hell runs aion from gameforge launcher xD
Aion rainmeter or even the bat file is the way to go.

Ofc, but for me important is to have patched Aion to the newest version, like windows and gpu
etc (gpu - ofc stable, not testing) -
