28.10.2020 on Korea - Classic Server Discussions

  • Bro, there is obiusly gonna be a EU release of classic AION, but they cant say that way before cos everyone will stop playing normal aion and feeding their pockets, you understand that? in korea it was announced 3-4 weeks b4 in NA 2 weeks before.

Galeas is just gaining time while they are probably working since months already in the implementation of classic aion EU.

And im pretty sure we will get an answer/realease date from Galeas before 23rd june, so ppl know that they can wait and dont go NA.

  • How is it different from the version being serviced in Korea?

The basis of the Aion Classic Global Service is that the service being provided is identical to the original version. The West version will maintain the same Aion Classic contents / BM items / service format being provided in Korea as closely as possible. The contents and version are being prepared in the same manner as Korea.

Korea is currently servicing the updated 1.7 version. Likewise, West will begin with 1.0 then provide the 1.5 update / 1.7 update based on how quickly players progress through the content, among other factors.

    Aion classic global service?

  • Aion Classic Is Coming to North America!

Where do you people see NA is the global aion classic server for the west? its obiusly just for NA, Russia is realeasing its own aion classic too, so will EU do...

  • Basically it will be identical to that of Korea without any modification in any aspect of the game. And that is very good.

Something that here, I doubt that they will keep, we already know how gameforge does things.

  • Gameforge really kicking themselves in the ass, most casual players will just play on NA, which btw is the majority of European players.

Only the hardcore players will refuse to play NA because of ping issues, having 150ms~ is not fun.

So maybe like 80% of players will play on NA now. Nice.

And even if we get this on EU, they will become attached to their NA characters and won't come on EU. Nobody likes starting from 0 again, plus the "nostalgia" of playing Classic will already be fulfilled for a majority of players that will try NA.

    Great job Galeas and co.

  • So it took this long for NA to release an identical game?

Guess we won't see classic for another 6 months if at all then.

Dude, game versions take normally 6 months or so to hit NA/EU. EU is already working on aion classic without saying nothing, so ppl dont stop playing live aion, the same thing that has NA done, work in silence.

  • Gameforge might aswell just not bother releasing aion classic in EU and just focus on publishing new, more "up-to-date" games.

Also I belive releasing classic now would be more painful for gameforge as that would bring ppl away from SOLO.

  • I just really cant understand all the people that are bealiving all the regions are getting Classic aion except EU xD, its so funny.

See you soon when Galeas announce the realease date of classic in eu. Na didnt confirm 5 months b4, also russia didnt so ppl kept playing...

As far as we know...... NCsoft hasn't given a green light for an EU release... That's how little information we have. No confirmation means no work being done on an EU version, meaning that once that confirmation comes it will take a LOT of time before a release. Since they have to start from scratch. Now ofcourse, it's all rumours. For all we know they keep the information private and they can release tomorrow.. but as long as that little message that still says: "Still in discussion with NCsoft", doesn't change. That's the only thing we can assume.

Thats the only thing you can assume?

So you assume that GF wanna lose a lot of money for not realising classic aion eu? also remember gf took aion over when it was 2.7 and they know how much money they were making back in the days.

You assume that since galeas hasnt give u an answer yet (which is completly normal) all the regions will get it except eu?...ok. I remark it again, korea said it 3-4 weeks b4 puting it live so ppl didnt stop playing, same for NA and russia.

So i repeat again if u want a GF confirmation of aion classic 3-4 months b4 its coming up, its NOT gonna happen. so obiusly when they say we are discussing with ncsoft and solving tecnical stuff, you can assume they are already working on it and they will announce when its close to going live.

PD: Your belifs that gameforge are not working on classic aion until they told you on forum seeing how everything is developing its just nonsense, same for the we are getting it 6-7 months after na...

  • If GF doesn't make a conclusive statement about the release of Aion Classic EU in the next month, they will definitely dig their own grave.

It's a huge amount of money and EU players who have been waiting for this moment for months. And as a company, that's not a good thing.

Nobody is going to come back to EU after 3-4 months of playing in NA Classic and knowing how classic is.

But I don't feel sorry for them, they have always treated money above the player, without listening to their community, or caring at all.

I won't be sorry if it happens, you reap what you sow.

There's quite difference between gameforge not announcing anything and gameforge actively informing that they don't know if they will ever release it.

Some of you seems to think that Aion Classic is a mountain of gold easy to reach for just about anyone. In reality aion is old, long forgotten by majority game, not suitable for streaming/content creation and made in super horrible engine.

Sure from "old veterans" point of view it would be great to have classic and "all their friends, family and pets" would love to play it, but that's still not that much compared to other games of the genre.

As far as I assume know...... NCsoft hasn't given a green light for an EU release

Fixed it for you ^ ^

If you know more than they officially stated, please share!

Neither me, you or anyone not from gameforge-ncsoft know what's happening in the background, so whatever you say is assumption, not something "we all know".

To say more, if gameforge says there are technical difficulties then it's highly suggested that they have a "green light" from NCSoft. Afterall there are no technical difficulties if you don't do anything.

And we are still waiting for more explanations from gf/galeas about the famous technical difficulties.

  • Well, im not a pro programmer. But i can guess what difficult it might be:

    1. Launcher, im pretty sure they wanna use same launcher for Aion and aion classic, so since they dont have multiplatform atm they need to solve that.

    2. Shop, they need to make a new shop or another section in the already existing one (But obiusly you cant buy items from normal shop into a classic server)

    3. Databases from aion and aion classic must match if im not wrong, so you can connect and play aion normal or classic with the same account.

    4. Subscription, Gold packs in the new shop? Translations? Specific website?

I mean its not that easy to implement. But if they have been working on it, it should be already done or close.

PD: Its kinda similar for when they handed over the game in 2012. But they have more exp now. Also time really depends on how many employees they have working on it (what 2 person can do in 8 months, can be done by 4 persons in 5 months, but more expensive)

Actually what Galeas said about it being more like a new game rather than a new server its completly true, if you look deeply at it.

  • 3. Databases from aion and aion classic must match if im not wrong, so you can connect and play aion normal or classic with the same account.

And that's exactly what I think are their "technical difficulties".

GF cannot "just" do this as it is intended (as implemented in Korea).
And that's exactly why the "negotiations" with NC Soft are currently failing.

    4. Subscription, Gold packs in the new shop? Translations? Specific website?

There will be no "translations" GF saves where they can and ruin itself..
