THE FIRST PAGE OF THIS FORUM HAS MORE COMPLAINTS ABOUT HACKERS BOTTERS and GF MANAGEMENT THAN IT HAS ANYTHING POSITIVE TO SAY, THEY ALL RUN PARALLEL, AND NONE OF THEM GETS ANY GM RESPONSE, ATTENTION OR ANYTHING.

    what does that tell you?

    That the active CM quit...

    you know, i wonder why.

are you sure he "quit" or maybe his account was made to appear "quiting"

As long as they sell a 1h reduction to 1kinah on the INGAME SHOP, this issue would NEVER BE RESOLVED. think about the logic of what you're proposing, you're literally asking them to stop selling one of their products and instead give it away for barely anything.

do you know any store (clothing, grocery, hot dog stand even) that would do that?

Same old story, short term profit and losing lot of players by not improving the game experience, or actually improving the game experience for long-term profit and keeping most if not all the current player base.

This happened so many times i already know which will happen.

Do you really think they're oblivious to it? they copied it straight from the private server model of "F2P -> wipe -> BIG LAUNCH -> F2P -> wipe -> laugh all the way to the bank -> F2P" etc.

thats what they sarcastically call "pay to avoid grinding" or "pay to progress", in reality it is just a bad design, think about it, they didnt even bother fixing the wing merchant prices after they lowered the kinah drops, they DONT CARE ABOUT IN GAME MECHANICS like these, they'll instead sell you a SKIN, or a SOUL HEAL BAND-AID.

it could be worse: a common trick is for the admin of a private server to pose as a player and either trade kinah to players for an "ingame gift purchase" (prividing fake demand for their own cash shop items) or straight out sell maxed out characters on ebay for cash.

    hear hear!

You literally released a BP that is significantly worse than the first one. You are supposed to reward greatly the players that additionally support you and show them that their loyalty is rewarded and valued.

    Really disappointed.

Have you tried not buying it?

VOTE WITH YOUR WALLET, not on the forum.

It is likely to be heard more

Besides its further more likely that the forum admins would not give a nyerk enough to forward your request its not even in the suggestion box, it is titled like an ultimatum, phrased like a complaint and completely disregards the ACTUAL name of the package, and besides the point, people who worked on it, already probably got their next task, and the people who implemented it had to take the server offline... etc. (or in a language that you can understand TOO LITTLE TOO LATE, NEXT TIME MAKE SUGGESTIONS IN ADVANCE, GET SUFFICIENT VOCAL SUPPORT ETC, oh and be more clear when making requests, otherwise they'd just think you're venting rather than asking)

you do realize this isnt pure randomness, there is a set percentage to get the item, if out of a sample size large enough you get certain things, and then later the same size sample you get significantly less (notice the significantly is bolded for a reason) AND if this can be verified by multiple participants in the survey THEN you can make assumptions (notice that the assumptions are bolded also) about the whole drop rate. thats how statistics work.

If however you're merely reporting your own observation here, you're more than generous and very welcome to do so, you're helping science and good for you!

And here I was reading the title and honestly hoping you'll address the many hackers :)

let's be honest even if he did I'm sure they'll still get away with it

i posted separately on the parrallel post about hackers that if this continue consider me and my close friends are out of the servers. i am currently paying 2 subs and my friends do the same -> HOWEVER we will only support the admins and pay for asmo and elyos IF we can play here, if the game turns into the NYERK that it is becoming, i will nyerk the nyerk away and go play something else).

...its insane how bold some of these elyos cheaters are.

I hope you realize cheaters are active on both sides ;) And there is a simple "anti stealth" - if I see in chat that X player used Hide I then I, as a sorc, can use 10-second see-thru skill. Other classes (non-scout) can use Seed of Detection too to see you and target you.
Ofc if you are an assassin using Hide II and non-scout class targets you, then just record it and report it.

...and please dont forget to submit it in several copies by 8 sharp tomorrow morning or they wont pay you. oh wait. they dont pay you.

how about the gms make it an unofficial quest with a bounty

Seeing bots in the game is acceptable due to its contribution to the economy, but players who kill people by cheating are absolutely unacceptable. I immediately invite the smart people in the administration to take action against these people. I should not die to players who use cheats in the game where every ap is valuable.:cursing::cursing::cursing::cursing::cursing::cursing:

i agree, as a non-hacker, I DONT THINK I WANT TO PLAY IN A HACKER PLAYGROUND.

    WHAT IS THE POINT?

my best guess, Virtual machines, sounds fast and effective.

but hey isnt this discussion derailing into HOW DOES ONE BOT?

if that is the case, i guess game forge is giving you the answer in the form of "SILENCE" (PLEASE NOTICE HOW FAST THEY CLOSE THAT THREAD WITH THAT ONE DUDE QUITTING 9 HOURS AGO)

as a subscriber of 2 accounts i agree with shabugi, i never had a problem when the original lineage2 was subscription play only.

BUT, its not financially sensible, so they mislabel the product and the reason nobody stops them is that we all dont care so much.

    Sure its technically:

FREE TO PLAY FOR ONE HOUR A DAY, or FREE TO TRY

but do you really REALLY want a game where nobody gets paid actual money and therefore nobody develops content, maintain the server or remove bots?

besides, THEY DONT EVEN HAVE A CONFIRMATION WINDOW when you're buying your 30 days sub ingame. i didnt see anyone complain or even bring it up.

Interesting read, especially for those who defend bots and their use, in 2023 having this game in classic mode is already lucky, seeing it already reduced to trash by bots is really sad, this version is played first of all for affection and nostalgia , those who play it really don't care to see the broker bot's items that can in any case be produced by active gameplay. Bots bring real benefits only to those who use them and kill the growth dynamics of a server, all new games are eliminating the transactions of items between players to avoid exchanges for real money and other actions that ruin the stability of the game itself as bring less economic revenue to the server and drive away many players, server revenue bots are like little leeches that put a deadline on the project. In a game with an old client like this, it's not at all easy to counter a phenomenon of this type if not with the help of the community itself and with a real and constant commitment from the staff. An idea could be to create in-game events with good and attractive rewards for players who help with fast report/kill bots and with staff who, especially at night, follow these events and ban bots or vice versa and better get ready to play something 'other because there will only be duplicate bots that skill your mobs and take the loot for you.

    You appear surprised.

OBSERVE THE PROGRESSION OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE MMORPG (lineage2) and its NCSOFT forced guidance.

The game started as a pay to play, even earlier in the chronology than world of warcraft, with a huge population, they had multiple flooded servers and multiple expansions, each in a form of a chronicle, but the engine was hackable and bots became plenty, if you youtube it you can see chinese botting farms of sometimes 60 computers (in the era before virtual machines).

little by little people decided that the x1 VERY slow pace coupled by the HARDCORE INFLATION arent worth it and moved to private servers of lineage 2 (some of which exist till today to facilitate PVP - a mechanic which most players only get to really take advantage of without being ganked at the later game)

NCSOFT ADAPTED SLOWLY, they were more interested in layering the game with more and more and more content and did not react on time, by the time they did anything it was too late. to supplement their income microtransactions were introduced, which alienated much of the playerbase, (free to paytowin) they also added casino island, but then, that was the trend back then.

PLAYER RETENTION in the western population was never NCSOFT STRONGER POINT, they eventually decided "if they cant be bothered to do these, we'll automate it, remove the bots advantage", the game moved between one model to another, and at some point you could also right click a skill to automatically repeat it whenever its ready. on RETAIL. sounds botty to you?

Its a long story i know, but try and see the pattern here.

slow to adapt, reacting to their own local market and autoapply to everyone, lack of ACTIVE ENFORCEMENT, and a community that adores and loves them until they just had enough.

    can you blame them? yes.

but then we should also blame some of us, consider this: some players on our server bot, they do it because they cant be bothered, to get ahead or to avoid "GRINDING" / "FARMING" and just skip to the PVP.

*NUDGE NUDGE* Sounds to me like a pvp oriented environment where its a plug and play might be in order (AND NOT IN A FORM OF THE MORE TRADITIONAL ARENA)

also, while we're on the technically "FARMING IN A NON TRADITIONAL WAY" topic: on our server you have players who have been grinding 16 hours a day (you can see some on twitch) and have gotten bored at max level, they are now leveling "TWINKS" which are basically elite gankers, that live on certain levels and aim to catch enemies of specific levels during a quest to farm AP, those little assassins (excuse the double entendre) are technically following the rules, but if we're nyerks to each other, do we really deserve help?

finally on the topic of botting, it is a deeply rooted problem which if left unchecked (like, as it is today) exponentially will grind the economy, it is a solution to a constantly diminishing kinah source. YOU CANT SPRAY AGAINST BOTS. they need a team of dedicated bot hunters, especially since bots can hide in zones with multiple channels. I suggested getting rid of their announcers in the past - chat ban which will reduce bot sales, which in turn will limit their profitability and lower at least the amount of bots of pirate businesses, but its still on the suggestion tab untouched.

and i know it doesnt help against players who farm through bots, but this isnt an easy question and SOMEONE *GAMEFORGE/NCSOFT, i am looking at you* should think of an answer, and preferably one thats automated and doesnt disrupt the play of the rest of us plebs who consider botters our ingame enemies.

(for example if you had an active gm they could use our "BOT REPORT" to generate a rift to allow players from the other faction to get rid of them naturally)

    you want confirmation? its not.

you waiting 4 minutes literally mean you're playing 4 minutes longer, if anything, it makes more financial sense to ignore this problem... at least until people decide to rage quit.

as long as the community is tight and nobody feels isolated, there's very little risk thats going to happen.
