i played lineage 2 for over a decade (almost 2 decades now) most of it in VERY LOW RATES and when you're sent to kill over 11 thousand monsters to do a nobless quest you really dont cry so hard for a 1/668123 drop rate

i invite anyone who challanges the drop rate fairness in aion to look for drop rate on anything important in lineage 2 (also ncsoft)

    Well, in lineage 2 the olympiad pvp infrastructure was a complex mechanism;

it was an arena where people can register to with instance rooms, the registration was divided, players can go for "same class" or "mixed choice" and the winner would get some of the losers score rating for that week.

at the end of the period, the lead player of each class would be granted the title of hero, a perma glow while the olympiad period is on cooldown access to hero weapon, specialized buffs in form of skills and an offensive skill.

additionally players could trade some of their olympiad passes (which you get whenever you win a match) for some rewards that can only be achieved that way.

overall the system was not abused much in retail but very abused in private servers because players would trade wins so it had good days and bad days, but like anything ncsoft did back then, it was VERY FUN TO PARTICIPATE IN. i look at any olympiad match i joined in good light, the matchups were always based on who signed up so you might get someone better or worse, so its very similar to existing systems.

when i proposed this training dummy dps i had only a few aspects of this mechanism that i thought to suggest, mainly because i dont know what gameforge can actually achieve.

    let me elaborate then.

the way i thought of this idea is that there would be a competition (i have no clue how game forge can achieve that, because again, they may be able to instance it, or just a gm standing with a dps meter and a stopwatch, thats really all up to what they can actually do, optimistically they can also have actual developers from ncsoft with a dummy that records incoming dmg and then reports it, and then everyone can read it, maybe it can even keep score of the top of each class).

at the end the dummy would crown the victors as "CHAMPIONS" and they get a special title with whatever ncsoft allows gameforge to grant as a reward, the title will only last for the duration of the competition, and it could be a biweekly reset to give players a chance to catch up and work on it.

ofcourse, i publish it here, and forfiet any rights to this idea, and anyone (NCSOFT, GAMEFORGE, i'm looking at you guys) is free to OWN this idea and make something fun from it.

We already have the online ranking for PVE, and we used to have bunch of pve and pvp rankings back on retail (be it via events or in-game system) but they mostly lead to toxic atmosphere and ppl cheating/abusing rules

which is why i didnt suggest a PVE RANKING. nor did i suggest a pvp pve tests. it was literally a dps against dummy competition.

WE NEED EVENTS (That arent just hey we gave you stuff). this can be one of them

You know the l2 olympiads? we need something like it.

HOW ABOUT DPS rotation COMPETITION, the winner of which will get a title that lasts for 2 weeks, the title can grant stats like in the l2 oly.

What do you think? discuss! :)

    //Edited Title - Sparx

Drop rate is not the issue. More grind less crying. You can always go back to NA if you don't like it here - oh I forgot - NA Classic is almost dead due to bots, gold sellers and poor management.

EXACTLY this, this guy is smart. give him a medal.

    also,

    * SUPER SERIOUSLY YOU GUYS * please give us everything and make us not work for anything in this game, it would be soooooooooooooooooooooooo fun. just start us off at level 50 with a nice hat and tonsa money.

That discount should be 90% PERMANENTLY

I'm a templar. I'm just going to die again so.
    Pointless.

    agreed.

maybe they hope that next time, instead of dying you'd do a fully voice co-ordinated task-manager-'end-process', or keep a dualboxed asmo in the area so you'd die off pvp

if it helps i have seen a guy shouting in town that he sells em for 2mil each, consider checking once more, maybe by now you CAN afford the 2m

Asmos are perma camping the balaur cave in Heiron where people do their campaigns and farm blue scales for DP, and also the core where you go trade in the quest for DP stone, always in zergs of 3-4 groups.

    So yeah, not just elyos.

Imagine that you're a fisherman, and you have a river leading to a lake, you can go to where the lake center is with a boat and hope for the best, or you can go to a place where the river connect with the lake, and just place a small targeted net. what do you do?

its not evil opportunism, its just practical human nature.

a daily quest that gives you a 1 hour of siel energy

    Consider this:

in a F2P mmorpg model: your whales are the people who pay, and their content is the general population: payers + freeloaders alike

the 1h of siel energy (repeatable once a day) makes players who pay and those who dont stay online and do it, which means that it would keep retention options for those cheap people who cant budget 10 euros a month.

another option is to make several stages of siel sub (for example)

4 hours a day (for people with jobs) + weekends -> 60% of the cost

you'd have alot more people subbing for that than before (and keep in mind that as long as they dont introduce a cheaper coin package, you still pay them the same value for it)

<also, They might be forced to do this in case people start leaving or in a promotion>

You look at gameforge as generic company as you recently got hooked up with now that classic is out.

On the other hand, plenty of ppl there (me included) talk with actual experience and knowledge as they follow the company for past >10 years.

Thats your view, I was playing gameforge aion for a while way back then, and moved to the NA version later when the gameforge started to die out, it means nothing though, i doubt anyone who works in gameforge now at this low tier rank of forum handling actually worked back then.

    good point

Why don't you make one then?? Or you want to hide behind someone else? And I don't think we will have 2.0 anytime soon (atleast I hope not, gearing up is hard now :P)

because i dont care about the issue, i plan to stay and i dont mind one way or the other what will be done on the topic, at least until i see some kind of mass exodus out of the server.

    SUGGESTION (to GAMEFORGE).

make an automatic CHATBAN for the websites the goldvendors use

warning the first time, and then 48hours for saying any of their website names automatically, automated response is a great way to fight automated attack

If you do a google search on Aion Chat Filter, the first link has instructions on how to install a filter that blocks kinah spammers.

I think you're missing the whole point of my idea.

the idea wasnt that we wont be bothered by it as players, it was that it would stop altogether. if you chat ban the actual person that advertises, there is no way for the botters to do business (aka sell their merch, which relies heavily on these global chat yells), if they get chatbanned and they arent disconnected the operator of the bot has no actual notification that the bot is not bringing in any fresh money for a while. if he discovers it, it doesnt matter, because their next shouter will also be chatbanned etc. the point is to use automation to fight automation.

if you have to individually filter/block vendors, you're not solving the botting problems, you're just ignoring it.

THANK YOU FOR THE BATHING SUIT GIFT, i have never seen a game provider giving away free skin for 3 very short (literally under 3 minutes) outages

    5 odd hours isn't 3 minutes...

was 3 minutes for me when i played, and 5 odd hours arent that big of a deal, most games require normal maintenance and some of it happen when you dont expect, anyone who ever played an mmorpg can testify, lets not make a big deal of 5 hours during a weekend one time.

if you click on their names you can see that Drestam last posted saturday, celes posted in november, why ask question that you already know the answer to? are you trying to passive agressively demand attention from the admins?

(see? thats how that feels like when another person is asking rethorical questions)

"passive agressively"? huh? fact is fact. aggressively or peacefully its fact so I want everyone to say something with duty and do them job with duty. I am asking and i am requestion. This thread is in public because we got public promise and that promise putted in a trash . Also funny thing is what? everyday I'm checking this thread shows that how administration ant care . Its makes me smile because when there will be livestream and I will remain them this thread in live .. Just want to see the reaction.

I have no actual problems with directly saying something to them, i think its a good thing, i had a problem with the aroundabout way you chose to do it, felt very passive agressivy.

    5. Now they dont care and not checking forum for feedback? :D  Galeas was all the time here and taking advances from players what is best and what is good for to do . Hellorien you entered in forum yesterday and you dont know how this forum worked in past .

okay Marstech, i dont know how this particular forum worked in the past, but i do know that the guy you're referring to left.

so you have just as little experience with the current team as anyone, which is nothing to brag about.

Do you want to know what the track record of GAMEFORGE in general (without outlier staff?) observe any of their other games, LITERALLY THE FIRST THING YOU SEE when you open the launcher is a campaign trying to put a positive spin on a server merge in another game they run called NOSTALE, now go into the forum of that and see.

not aion-y enough for you? go into the forum of the ACTUAL AION that gameforge has been running.

seriously. you have a mancrash on Galeas thats fine, but dont make that into a point in a debate.

    oh and.

not everyone is an aionclassic fanboy. i cant speak for others but i came here because i saw an aion clone that actually has population, i am willing to put up with ALOT OF content meddling including with artificial economic disasters as long as other players are still playing.

Your fanboyness has no actual impact on the level of knowledge you seem to have, publisher is a GENERAL TITLE, it CAN ACTUALLY mean different things, and it really all depends on the agreement they had with ncsoft.

if you ever get to read that one, let us know if you agree with the way they handle things, but until then, you know as little as any of us.

the type of people a company seeks to employ cover the positions they have vacant. not what they already are employing

and finally, my last point and i love to quote a specific part of what you wrote here:

    5.

    Community Manager != customer support.

Its on company to come with solutions and decisions based on user feedback. In fact it is very unhealhy if users try to filter their feedback by what they think would be the best for company as it usually just distort the real opinion of the player and leads to poor decisions.

    No it isnt.

A corporation is managed in order to satisfy its shareholders, not its clients.

you may be referring to what amazing marketing departments are telling you (you being the client) but the truth of the matter is that individuals who work in corporations spend their days fulfilling goals, actual deadlines, very few of these employees have any liberty to choose their own tasks to begin with.

those tasked with forum maintenance arent entitled to any RND connections by default, sure, a hands-on department manager may occasionally dabble with innovations, creative solutions and even in extreme cases do the extra-mile-kind-of-thing but thats the exception.

keep in mind, Gameforge operates a game that they arent developing, changes to it may require or even demand NCSOFT intervention (or even approval) we dont know what agreement they had when they were allowed to be the publisher, GUESSING THIS DOES NOTHING TO HELP. so maybe dont.
