3 Maintenance this week

  • Is it me or does not everybody think that 3 maintenance this week is a bit much ?

In 6 days we get: last Monday network maintenance, today regular maintenance and on Saturday the time changing maintenance..... isn´t this a bit much scratching time of from our goldpacks ????

By all means the maintenance from Monday was totally unnecessary, could you not make the network maintenance also today with the regular ones ???

I think its about time we get a "compensation" for out lost goldpack time, but well on the other side its GameForge so I don´t expect much from them.....

  • Hello :)

Each of these maintenance has a different purpose and different processes, we can't just slam them together.

The network maintenances are needed twice per year, and as it affects our whole infrastructure (from internal services to all our games) we would rather do it in the night, when less players are affected.

Weekly maintenances are used either to start/end events or, in this case, to update our machines' OS. Since events are impacted, we want to have them on Wednesdays.

Lastly the time change maintenance, well this one we have to do when the time actually changes, or there wouldn't be any point to it. But with any luck, maybe we will not have to do these anymore!

When doing all of these, we're trying to find times that would affect as few people as possible, but of course we can't accommodate everyone :)

  • Generally Gameforge should reimburse/add the time which players are unable to play due to actions from Gameforge. The cause does not really matter.

  • Hey,

You're still okay, right? Or is this an attempt at ragebait?

The year has ~365 days. How many days do we have for maintenance, approximately?

For those who are quick at math, it's 52 days... that's not even 15% of the year.

Think logically. Maintenance has to be done.

Otherwise, everyone complains that the server etc. isn't working properly.

And they are part of the system. You have them EVERYWHERE in MMORPGs.

Personally, I don't notice the maintenance work because I'm busy working. And the times are perfectly chosen.

As Drestam already wrote, you can't accommodate everyone.

By the way... my playing time on Retail. The days wouldn't even be noticeable to me.

I think compensation for things is appropriate if:

    a) there is a serious problem and maintenance is significantly delayed as a result

    b) special maintenance is carried out without prior notice

    or

    c) the server has problems and the problem cannot be fixed “immediately.”

Due to normal maintenance that has been announced and is intended to “improve” the gaming experience, there is no need to “compensate” the player.

And if there happen to be a few maintenance periods in a row (which is very rare), remember that there are 365 days in a year. And how many of those could you actually spend gaming non-stop?

I won't go into detail about maintenance because (based on my experience with customers) the “expertise” is simply not there.

Otherwise, this post would not have been written.;););)

Have a nice day, be kind to each other.
