A cold night has Atreia in its clutches, and the world looks faded and grey in the light of a sinister moon. Is something moving there in the shadows? A cold shiver runs down your spine as the terrifying clink of chains turns your blood to ice. You hear the blades singing as they cut through the air, long before they deliver their deadly purpose...

A brand-new class is coming to AION Classic in the form of the Revenant! In this guide you’ll get a glimpse of what’s to come, learn what the Revenant is all about, plus find a few tips and tricks for getting to grips with the new class.

    Backstory

Revenants start their adventure after a tortuously fateful past. As a Daeva captured by Tiamat’s legion, they were subjected to malevolent experiments and cruel brainwashing which caused them to lose their wings. But they managed to break free of Tiamat’s clutches. After a daring escape, they regained their freedom, and their memories gradually returned to them. In Atreia, they finally managed to unfurl their wings and once more rise in the ranks of the Daevas.

Plagued by destiny, they now try to forge their own path. They have not forgotten the fate of those fallen who they had to leave behind, and many of them feel betrayed and forsaken by the rulers of their people, left to suffer under Tiamat’s yoke. With a sense of rebellion coursing through the veins, and the memories of their imprisonment still painfully fresh in their minds, they decide to tread a different path to the other Daevas...

    What Makes a Revenant?

Revenants start their journey at level 1 as Soldiers in Telos, which is their own starting zone with a variety of quests. Dressed in leather armour and as the only class equipped with chainblades, they can attack enemies from a medium distance.

Soldiers prove their value in battle with strong, powerful attack skills that can be used both at range and in melee combat, their fighting ability being distinguished by speed and adaptability.

On becoming Daevas, Soldiers develop to become Revenants who harness the powers of thunder and lightning in spectacular skills, excelling in battle with their dextrous techniques. They use Ion Flux as their main resource in combat, which is charged by certain skills and consumed by others. When not used, this resource gradually drains over time.

Revenants have powerful AoE attacks which can keep multiple enemies at bay – skills such as Thunderstrike, Fate’s Executioner and Rolling Thunder command respect. The class also has a special feature: skills with the Ion attribute can be used between chain skills without interrupting the chain! Chain skills will, however, still interrupt other chain skills.

Parrying is of vital importance to the Revenant, as they can execute a counter-attack, such as with Electric Resonance or Charged Burst. Or they can use the chance to bolster themselves with skills such as Electric Boost.

On top of that, Revenants have powerful movement abilities such as Surge Sprint which enables them to quickly close down their enemies. If things don’t go to plan, they can use Power Circuit to return to the spot where they used Surge Sprint, and beat a hasty retreat.

    Tips & Tricks

Stay on your toes! The Revenant’s skills are designed for making fast attacks, and the leather armour leaves you relatively lightly protected in comparison to the more resilient options out there. Should you be hit, having a high parry rate will pay dividends – remember to use your skills and counter-attacks to your advantage in precisely such situations!

Skilled Revenants keep their Ion Flux meter in mind and balance their skills to charge and consume this resource efficiently. There’s nothing worse than being unable to use a powerful counter-attack because you don’t have enough Ion Flux!
