While Galeas has already posted a few hours ago some of the bugs, this is just outrageous. Temples couldn't be conquered due to a unknown bug that made the bosses invincible, therefore preventing both factions to kill them. The buff tooltip suggested to take all balaur belongings in order to debuff his Steel Wall. Well, we did. We even got to Reshanta. Yet, nothing had changed.
European patches usually take place 1 or 2 weeks after NA does. You have dismissed translations to work "better" on the updates and exclusive changes that only your company does. Messy updates and events. Therefore, nothing had changed.
Whatever. I would make of this topic a bit more civil, but you don't deserve it. This is beyond me.
Keymaker if that's true, I'd hate sieges so much. I'm pretty active on sieges (therefore I hardly ever afk), but running around just to get the maximum HP it's going to be annoying as hell. Especially when you play on an highly populated server.
The idea of placing shields on the bosses would be awesome. That way we'd have enough time to do other stuff -like going to the opposite faction's map to PvP, as you said- so that we shouldn't worry much about our points.
Well, the rollback has done but atreia pass rewards (shugo coins) have not reseted - yeah, the reward is "delivered" but you have amount of them before first maintenance. I can see this spam about that to support now...
It's not just the Atreia Pass. The items that have weekly limited purchases haven't been reset neither.
Quote from BusterI'm disappointed for other reasons. Like, I can live with the fact that they messed up. They will eventually fix it later today. What really bothers me is the fact that all these events are targeted at the already rich player base that has piled up enchant stones and has what it takes to get it even better.
What about newer players like myself that joined about 2 and a half months ago?
We don't have mad stacks of stigma stones or +9 sets to aim for 12.
It feels like a job to get things going towards end gear and be competitive in PVP. It would be so nice if these events would benefit newer players as well...
Usually, MMORPGs (especially the asian ones) tend to be built in a way that requires you to be playing as hard as if you were working. If you have friends that can lend you their hand, it'll be easier to you to get at the current game's pace, but if you don't... Well, more time to invest.
A pretty quick example is that someone can give you a gold pack to lift restrictions in order to get more stuff from instances and kinah. On the opposite, you'll have to deal with weeks of farming to get a gold pack even.
In other online games with a P2W model, you bet there'll be something slowing you down from making progress. It's frustrating indeed, but that's how they commonly work within the market.
I don´t think that these boost should be only for weekends. It should be a weekly change
It actually used to be like that when on 6.X times. Yet I think it's a feasible idea from Solnishko as people are getting back to work because of the quarantine lift on some countries, meaning that most of them are able to play during weekends mostly.
Personally, I'd rather prefer a nice +50% rate for a couple of days than a 10-20% weekly rate.
just make every ones stigmas +12 unless they are over that lvl does not matter what + they are
we could only wish lol
+12? You should aim higher, mate. Improved stigmas or no deal! ![]()
Ok, so:
- My assassin is getting slowly but steadily geared (I can't afford to get expensive stigmas, so I won't be able to improve the DPS on this field)
- What stats should I roll for the gear? Physical and crit are the primary options as far as I can tell, but what other stats are great for the Asssassin?
- Is the Assassin's kit that strong or am I being just lucky at killing the enemy faction? My banes are all plate users, Spiritmasters (no matter how many Aethertwistings I use against it, it's unbearable), Painters and Assassins. Do you have any tip to deal with any of these classes?
- Just found that my ping is far from even being slightly decent. While watching Squall's videos from his Youtube channel, he said that there's one trick to reveal your true ping. Walk constantly facing a wall and then /ping through a macro. While being inactive, my ping is around 70~120ms, but while doing this trick it's +200ms. Well, way to play Assassin I guess
- This said, I'm kind of reluctant about using a third party program to have my ping reduced. It's not like I haven't used Battleping or WTFast a few years ago, but I've been comfortable with my current internet speed and personally don't wanna become addicted to any of the already mentioned third party programs. But I'll take into account your opinion ![]()
Display MoreStigmas for PvE: Dagger Oath, Lightning Slash, Apply Lethal Venom, Eye of Wrath, Deadly Abandon, Shadowfall. If you're up against bosses, you could swap Shadowfall for Sigil Strike.
when you dont have all stigmas +12:
Dagger Oath / Lightning Slash / Dash and Slash (gets cd reduction when Whirlwind Slash crits) / Deadly Abandon / Sigil Strike / Venomous Strike or Eye of Wrath in Main slots (Shadowfall when you grind mobs)
if you have all stigmas +9, get everything
Apply Lethal Venom isnt good anymore because of 20% procc and Lightning Slash would boost whole physical classes + self dmg increases.
Sadly this is a fresh new character and I don't have the kinah to invest on +9 or even +12 stigmas, if anything it would be on gear instead. But I'll keep in mind this setup
Thanks a lot! ![]()
Atk speed cap is exactly 50% of base attack speed.
The formula of base attack speed in case of having 2 weapons is the base speed of main hand weapon (1.2 for daggers and 1.4 for swords) + 25% of the offhand weapon base speed.
So basically +19% attack speed weapons and Kromede are going to cap the attack speed to 0.775, no matter what. Is this correct? Also, does this also apply to buffs such as WoW/SoD? How come Kaisinel decreases that cap even further?
Thanks a lot for your help, I really appreciate it! ![]()
I'm personally playing this Assassin because I felt like I needed a second character with strong DPS, and to have some fun on PvP as well. Hit and run tactics, being able to hide, burst damage, running like the Roadrunner, all these stuff sound really fun to me. But I can already see it's a difficult class to get good at, so most likely it's going to take a good while until I'm decent enough.
By the way, what stats should I roll for the gear? HP / Attack / Crit? How much crit do I need to reach 25%?
On the other hand, as I've been testing, attack speed doesn't go lower than 0.8, which makes me wonder if it's capped or not. I have Hamerun and Kromede if that helps (both decrease the attack speed to the very same amount).
Hello, everyone!
I had just levelled up an Assassin and so far I'm quite clueless about how I should proceed. I'm not exactly a new player so I know some mechanics (weaving, jump casting, etc) but I've never played this class much. Anyway, here are the questions:
- [Stigma] What's the best stigma setup for PvE/PvP or both? I had opened Shadow Walk and Deadly Abandon but left the rest unopened since I wasn't really sure
- [PvE gear] As for weapons, should I buy Dumaha or Senekta? Dagger on left hand and sword on right hand? Noble Spen accesories or Pandora ones?
- [Mechanics] Should I be weaving every single skill I'm using? Is there any good skill rotation to improve my DPS?
- [PvP gear] Since this is another character and I also have to invest time for my main, should I farm Intense Battle or trying to get Silent Black?
- [Manastones] I've been told that crit strike needs to be at least 30%, and after that, going for physical attack. Is this correct or is it different for the Assassin?
- [PvP] Since I have around 70~120ms, is it any good? Also, this is a bit personal, but... Am I the only one who gets nervous? Like, I struggle at focusing and I keep forgetting that I had buffs I could have used for a better outcome. Would this get any better if I jumped more on PvP?
Thank you in advance
If you have any other tip you might wanna share, it will be really appreciated as well!
Display More- Heavily time-consuming event. Granted, most of online games are like this, but I HARDLY EVER leave my PC because of the Hero Trials. If you really care about your playerbase, allow them to take some fresh air. This event is just too much
Quest Time 150 rabbits + boss Dumaha

150 rabbits + boss Sanctum/Pande

30 rabbits Stella NM
25 min
30 rabbits Prom HM
30 min
30 rabbits Manor EM
60 min
30 rabbits Manor NM
3 min
5 rabbits Runato 5 min (+5min to 30min proc - not include)
Total 273 min = 4h33
This is the approximative time I've needed to complete the 1st half of the quests. And we did Manor EM as a 4-man run, so it took a bit of time.
You've had 3 days to complete the quests.
Tell me, what did you do the rest of the time ?
And if you did the quests on multiple account, you have no right to complain about time consuming HT.
If you were smart enough to calculate your own spared time, you're also smart enough to think that:
1) Not all players are decently geared and/or experienced (hint: your friends may need a helping hand, which it means extra effort)
2) The time is relative, meaning that it can take longer for some
3) There are more stuff to do (daily and weekly quests, sieges, Katalam insignias, etc.)
4) 4:33 hours for 3 days is still too much, given the previous point
And besides, if anyone wants to make the Hero Trials on an alternate account, they're free to do so and still have the right to complain about it, because as I've said before, events are supposed to be fun, not a job where you're willing to reach the end of the month just to get your wage.
Galeas I'd like to say something:
I'm genuinely frustrated about the way Gameforge decided about how Hero Trials should work. Honestly. I can't just understand why wouldn't you simply allow us having optional quests as it has been like in the first week. A few points to remark:
- If we miss a rabbit, we're basically screwed (either a waste of reset scrolls or even Luna)
- All 10 quests need to be done by Saturday or, yeah; we're also screwed
- As if some instances weren't already difficult enough, this is going to be a no-no for new players unless they find other players that can actually help them
- Heavily time-consuming event. Granted, most of online games are like this, but I HARDLY EVER leave my PC because of the Hero Trials. If you really care about your playerbase, allow them to take some fresh air. This event is just too much
Events are supposed to be fun and entertaining, but this one? If you ask me, it feels more like a job.
At this point it's more than obvious what the reaction of the playerbase was going to be when Gameforge decided to do so. Therefore you all should chill a bit. I've also spent my hours farming those, but right now, blaming and complaining about them won't make it any better.
I'd like to add something, however. Galeas is there any possibility to tweak some of the Hero Quests now that they're getting reset? For example, I -personally- find quite annoying to kill dozens of these mobs and running some old instances twice to have these done, special mention to Esoterrace which is an insanely large map, to simply get 15 rabbits killed.
I'd rather place them on other places that doesn't take too much of your time, because I'm pretty sure that many of us still need to do other stuff ingame as well. Can you give us an update regarding this topic? I'd really appreciate it ![]()
Galeas since world under quarantine because of covid pandemic maybe we can get deathbringer event ?
Events are already planned and either prepared or sent to NCSOFT, we can't just add an event spontaneously like that.
It's kind of a shame that games have become so restrictive on event content. As when used to be a volunteer staff (before the lawsuit) for Ultima Online, plus lots of other MMo's GM's had so many more powers in games to create spontaneous events, or even the freedom to think of a scenario and then spawn mobs in a click.
The connection between the community and the Game Devs/Producers used to be so much closer back then, events were personal. We've had before where bosses were summoned in Eltnen by GM's. I also think alot of the events are either outdated, or too much time spent on implementing them when they are rubbish
You've already answered yourself. The connection between players and devs depends on how close they are, so knowing where the headoffice of NCSoft is, I'm afraid this is not the case. Not only that, but also Gameforge is really dependent on NCSoft's decisions nowadays (which should be logical, as it's their game).
Aion is one of those games that you either love it or just go "nah, screw it", as you need to find the fun by yourself. Not gonna lie, though -- Gameforge is actually doing a good job as for events (while they're not heavily Aion shop focused, that is), and also gathering and quickly responding to their playerbase's feedback, which is great! Speaking of which, kudos to Galeas as well ![]()
So for the time being, I'd rather suggest taking the game more easy and wait for bigger events. And while you're at it, try to bring some friends (or make some ingame) as this is a social-fueled game.
------------------------------------------------------------
By the way, this will not be a rant, just some insight on what's going on with other online games. I'm pretty aware this will not make any change inside Gameforge, but still:
There's an ARPG called Path of Exile (Diablo-like) which is also running a Free-to-Play model. The game started its official beta back on 2010, and is currently one of the leaders of the market for the genre. Not as much as League of Legends or Fortnite, needless to say. But yet, it has become a game with a great potential on behalf of Grinding Gear Games. Because of this, they've announced the past year that they're already working on its sequel, Path of Exile 2, as well as many other expansions (commonly known as "Leagues") that offers the players new brand mechanics, stories, and even rewards.
Now personally, I've been playing the game since then -among a few hiatuses-, and all I can say is that I've enjoyed every last bit of it. It also has its own defects (there are no games without them), but I still loved it, in spite of those. Aion is no exception, neither.
Either way, here's the standpoint. The Free-to-Play model they're running are basically MTX (micro-transactions), mainly focused on cosmetics. From sturdy helmets and armour pieces to fancy auras and wings. Gonna tell you already, they're quite expensive. However, the important point lies on your Stash (think of it as your Warehouse, but in this case, literally everything can be shared between your characters).
When you start playing you'll only have 4 tabs. As you progress, you'll eventually find yourself without enough space to keep carrying your belongings. Therefore, the game is already "forcing" you to pay for a few more tabs. Lovely, isn't it? The good part is that you keep those tabs forever, so in that sense, around 40€ in total (4 additional tabs stand for 10€) should be good enough for any kind of player.
In addition, the Leagues I just mentioned, offer some decent rewards to the players that beat a certain amount of challenges, and they're also MTX for free. They usually go like this: cosmetic for every 12, 24 and 36 completed challenges.
What I'm trying to say is that: 1) There's no RNG involved for any of the items, in exception of the Mystery Box 2) You keep your stuff forever 3) You actually can get stuff from the shop for free by just beating the challenges the game provides
There are also Supporter Packs that players can buy to get, among cosmetics and currency to spend for the shop, a special title for the forums, as well as other stuff depending on which Support Pack you purchase.
-------------------------------------------------------------
My apologies for the long post!
Even a monthly subscription seems way more reasonable if there weren't so many P2W items around. I get that Korea works this way too, but let's be honest: it's easy not to spend anything when there are people doing it already for you. I mean - That's how it works, right? Or at least, that's how it's SUPPOSED to be.
The use of Gold Packs, which are about 10€ if I'm not mistaken, are a great way to keep people investing their money. Now if we count alternate accounts per player, the way Elite Levels work, and the fact that the Gold Packs are tradeable, numbers go far beyond. Maths haven't ever been on my side, but I can be certain that Gameforge is already having a great income. So this being said, I still don't get why most of the juicy items are so insanely overpriced. Ah, right - Money, money!
Like, seriously. Since when getting shop items has been more rewarding over than farming? I speak for myself when I say I never manage to get a decent gear before the next patch arrives, it doesn't matter how much time I keep investing into the game. But hey, that's the result of my effort. The outcome without investing any real money, that is.
Honestly, the PvP environment is an absolute joke. A game that claims to be really exciting, but that in the end, your F2P character gets roflstomped by a +15 Ultimate geared Gladiator, by just breathing to your neck.
At this point, I don't care about how P2W the game is. I just wanna tell you that, even if many of us don't spend real money, we're actually encouraging other people doing so, as we need items that we can exchange with kinah. But despite everything, we're still far behind those P2W players, as it seems we're not treated as equals.
In addition, the worst part about the Shop items is that most of them are mere gambling (as if their expensiveness wasn't good enough), something that I personally hate as you have a chance to waste your money for nothing. At the same time, there might be people who actually enjoys this aspect of the game. It's not like I support this, but like I previously said, people are free to do whatever they want.
Someone has mentioned that Germany is one of the european countries with the best economy, and that's quite true. While many other countries don't. To summarize: Not everyone can do their bit for the game even if they wanted to.
