They should've adjusted the plat medal rate rather than delaying patch. People are already starting to get bored of 2.5 as it feels more or less the same as 2.0.

It just means we'll approach the same end as retail more quickly, dead except for the few whales who have invested too much to quit.
I am also willing to spend quite a bit on my hobbies, but not when I feel like I'm killing the game by spending.

It's just depressing that they chose the p2w route instead of p2skin route which was so easily available (look at any other region). There's a whole section in discord with people begging for skins but for some reason we just don't get them.
Manastone issues could easily have been solved by adding manastone drops to end bosses or some sort of daily/weekly objective similar to the hero quests back on retail which would also incentivise people to actually play the game instead of just swiping.
As someone else said, the playerbase is older and better off than 10 years ago (more willing to spend and less willing to grind), but it is not smart going so hard for the p2w route if you want longevity for classic.

What class are you playing? It would be easier giving you specific tips if we know what sort of playstyle your character has (is it ranged? Melee? Can you self heal? Etc).
It's been some days since your post so I'm not sure how relevant your questions are anymore but;
1. Kaliga is stronger and has a different attack pattern if you do not kill any other bosses in the instance before entering the final boss room. I don't remember everything he does, but I think he buffs himself with the 2 orbs up by his "altar" and he summons adds at some points of his hp%. I think he also stuns and knocks you down more in this form.
A general tip in pve is to kite out (= run out of attack range of the mob) any casts and aoes, or sometimes even buffs (attack increase, reflect, defensive buffs and shields). Kaliga's stuns and knockdowns are cast skills afaik, so as soon as you see him casting you should run away (or press evade if you're playing a scout class). Even if you get stunned/knocked down you save yourself some time by making the mob have to run to you before it can follow up with attacks.
2. If you want key from Kaliga for weapon boxes, you have to ignore all other bosses in the instance. The key does not drop from weakened Kaliga (which is the version you get if you kill other bosses on the way).
3. Campaign quests are the best way to exp.
4. This might be down to your class, the gear you're wearing, and how you're playing. What are you having trouble with? Are you dying to single mobs? A bit more information would be helpful.
5. There's not really any efficient ways of making kinah as a low lvl player. Starting with DC and upwards, end bosses of instances will drop items (1x for everyone in group) you can sell to any npc for 50k, 100k, 200k (value depends on boss). That's about it for pure kinah sources, you won't be dropping enough trash gear to sell for any significant amount of kinah. Any manastones you come across will be worth saving, though, even the less useful ones like evasion, parry and mp. You can either trade them to the manastone removal npcs for rng bundles (usually contain better manastones than you gave), or sell them on broker for people doing the same.
Endgame you can either join sell runs (selling loot if you get anything interesting) or disenchant fabled or eternal grade gear and sell the enchantment stones. If you do not care about AP you can also join Esoterrace runs from lvl 50 and onwards where you only loot the first boss and open a chest for a buyer (just take care and don't loot the contents of the box). Eso 1st boss loot runs usually go for 1.5-2kk.

Got 2 short questions this time:
1. Any new gear at our 2.5 besides new epic abyss gear?
2. Will it be possible to exchange bluegold-medals in platinium-medals in any way?
Thx.
1. padma gear (eternal pve), unsure if we get tac gear with conditioning (though not eternal version for sure)
2. no, this becomes possible in 3.0
-
Budget: stormwing cloth or chain (cloth has cast speed on gloves without breaking set effect)
Endgame: 55ap chain nonelite with cloth gloves for cast speed (in 2.5 eternal ap chain with cloth gloves)
Either taha or sw cleric shield with any 6 slot 19% atkspd mace

There's no need to argue about what's better or worse here anyway, NCS will never listen to feedback from players outside of Korea and GF do not have the power to code anything like this.
-
I'm curious to know if it's just a cover up for a delay that would happen anyway due to xyz at gf/ncs or if they genuinely listened to ~20 people in the forums
I was one of the people who wanted to start with 1.9 and was grateful for it, even though some things were overlooked which made the patch a bit more stale (such as just 1 dred/day and no tiak to compensate for the other 2 entries), but it's enough now. Even my most casual friends have reached the endgame point where each week is just do your 5 dc runs and hope for polearm, daily dred + arena and log off.

Yesterday someone paid 30kk for a level 50 greatsword ID...... well invested money for less than a month.....
what new extended weapons in 2.0? guess 50 extended weapons will be good
It´s up to 411 damage from a lvl 55 great sword vs 302 damage from a lvl 50 extendable on lvl 55 pvp gear. Don´t get me wrong, everyone can spent his money how he wants but when I got the lvl 55 pvp gear I will be very happy when you hit me with your overpriced lvl 50 ectendable.......
Extends are situational, not a main weapon

The focus is not on the game version, but on the catch up mechanism. We all know that AION has no catch-up mechanism. Whenever a new version is launched, new players will fall far behind others. New players cannot join and AFK players cannot return. The population will be decreasing.
That was never rly that big of a deal in these patches.. No matter how "ahead" somebody is there is still an endgoal in sight and that is full pvp gear which is not impossible to obtain in a reasonable time even as a f2p player. So everybody can close that gap. Hell you can get 30ap gear for a week or two and still be able to fight against full e50 people..
This became a problem only in later patches when they started adding more equipment like plumes and wings and crap that had to be enchanted too, enchantable accs too, removing the +15 cap on items etc. There you can't catch up at all and the whales become immortal to you no matter how much you outplay them.. Same as current retail - complete unplayable clusternyerk. Old Aion was balanced.Okay, if you spend 6 hours or more per day, you may be able to catch up. However, the truth is that when you haven't finished the PVP set yet, new versions and new PVP equipment arrive. Because you must have enough tokens to exchange equipment, and the amount of these tokens obtained per day is limited. These tokens are the advantage of the old player. Not to mention that this game requires multiple sets of equipment with different attributes, which is an additional cost. Believe me, the endpoint you mentioned is not within reach for new player.
2.x brings so many more ways to gain ap though (tiak, kkm, eso++), people who didn't play since classic launch will catch up soon enough.
And why would you need to spend 6h+ for ap gain in current patch? Siege (10-15 min x2), dred (40 min if both sides have 0 gear and you clean all but more often than not it's more like 20 min), daily arena (11 min), roah/asteria (30 min - duo/trio/buy) and some ow pvp or guard farming if you feel like extending your ap farm. Obviously regroup time comes in addition, but I don't see how this is 6h+
Some people don't think these things are fun and skip some/all of them, but then you also kinda can't complain about gear gap idk
-
People need to remember classic =/= og aion. We will for example not have crucible pvp armour, which people repeatedly keep advising new players to aim for.
Most people in KR aion still use (in 2.8 btw) at least 1 e50 set for something in pvp since the offensive stats are better than the new fabled 55 set in 2.0, showing this set is viable for a long time for all classes. 2.0 brings way more ways to gain ap which will make gearing smoother, but nothing wrong with starting on e50 armour now (new accs will be better though). If you are so invested in the game, I suggest joining the unofficial classic discord and reading through the aion-korea section instead of having to speculate on outdated info.

People already sayed that a few times, you aren´t supposed to get any AP gear part in 3 weeks... maybe the first part in 1-2 months. This is no different than original aion. The only way to get AP gear fast is stay 40 farming lower level AP instances buying E40 set.
This is not true, I played original Aion in 2009, and Aion Classic when it was launched in NA, and in both cases we could enter all 3 x Dredgion sessions each day, which made a huge AP difference to what we have here.
That is because with KR 1.9 they also got tiak and so you are supposed to have dred + tiak for your daily pvp instances. We were originally supposed to have 2.0, but got it downgraded to a 1.9 (by community vote). The 1x dred entry was probably overlooked with the 398746593 custom changes requested by the community.
For the record, I also wish they'd up dred entries to 3, endgame pvp is a bit stale rn even though we got arenas (but no 3v3).

I've been enjoying the game so far tbh but kinah -is- an issue. My legionmates mostly hit 50, and they did instances and quests along the way and yet almost nobody could afford all their skills - let alone stigmas. Then arena tickets cost kinah, and quite a lot too. And this isn't even mentioning the ridiculous price of soul sickness... Or that manastones seem more or less nonexistent.
-
if they wanted to give more accurate information they would have said something like "The drops are not gonna be the same as in NA right now, but open world mobs will have higher chances of dropping things " etc etc, but instead of that, they just simply said "it will be worth it". So its just a words game and i think we all know what to expect. It's simply not informative enough to bait people into playing and buying siels aura, simple marketing. Specially since Galeas mentioned that there are things they cannot change from KR version (drops are one of those things from what i understood). Everything i said is just pure my opinion.
The more I think about it, the more I'm guessing we aint getting the 1 free week of siel aura
Didn't they already confirm this a long time ago already (that there's no free week)? Though then again they also used to say there won't be any free time at all, so 1h/day was a win for f2p players.

People are putting words in Galeas's mouth and getting mad about things they made up themselves, but GF not doing themselves any favors not updating the FAQ with some important stuff from the livestream either.
Note: We will add more questions and answers to the FAQ as we get closer to the release.
It is still planned and being prepared. The VOD is also availble if you want to check what was said.
Yeah just the majority of people who are very vocal about their dissatisfaction seem to have the wrong info and it's considerably faster checking a bullet list than skip through a ~2h long video looking for the info you need. There's also stuff you said in a French stream interview that wasn't really in the English livestream afaik, would be nice to have that in text from you rather than roughly translated by some player.
Not that updating the FAQ will increase people's reading comprehension, but then at least there's an official source people can check fast and easy. Discord is nice for fast information, but everything gets lost in the flood so it's also not reliable for referencing.

The game itself arguably facilitates P2W with the ingame sales mechanics. If you have enough €€€ you can always RMT for kinah and/or loot, legally (via selling shop items) or via other means (illegally). Even if the shop only contains cosmetics, there will always be players willing to buy skins and candies.
The fact that the shop (for now) does only contain cosmetics and that candies aren't sellable for kinah is a very good start imo. At this point it's just not realistic having a game that's offered for free or with a 10€ sub w/o battle pass and the version we're getting for starters looks like the best possible outcome all things considered.
I think GF did a good job with the compromises and I'm actually quite optimistic, the thing that worries me most is the drop nerf but as NCS weren't willing to soften that it is what it is.

Personally I would prefer 2.0 over 1.2 or 1.5 but I think the best compromise would be to have 1.x content for a month or two before going into 2.x. 2.0 comes with bug fixes, quality of life improvements and more content that I think it's a better solution in a long run. However, I think it would be a good compromise to have 1.x content for a short period of time to have a compromise for ppl. I'm guessing going back with an entire older patch is probably too difficult because aion team would have to start from scratch preparing it, so here's my suggestion:
Restrict content to emulate 1.x classic feeling. I'm not entirely sure what needs to be done here but probably it's a lot easier to adjust 2.0 patch to emulate the classic feeling for 1.x patch.
You would have to restrict leveling past 50, restrict access to gelk/ingi (just lock entry q and remove npcs maybe?), adjust upper and lower siege timetables so that we have more sieges than 2.0 (2.0 upper sieges are just once a week afaik) and also adjust siege rewards to 1.x. If there's anything else I'm missing, people that played na classic can probably add it to the list. There's maybe some other changes like Zapiel but I'm sure ppl can list them here. Imo it would be a best solution for everyone and everyone could rift and enjoy the old content for a while.
This is the way.

The main issue with starting at 2.0 means a lot of old content (instances, rifting, more diversified pvp) is dead on release. Everyone will just rush for endgame and run back and forth in gelk/inggi.
I also don't think a barebones 1.2 is the way to go, and lvling in lower patches is definitely an issue. But nobody is saying they want to stay on 1.x for ages, just having the chance to at least experience that for a few months before moving on to new maps and different content would be nice.
