In Aion, high end maps are pvp maps as well. From what I see, I think it's similar to the one implemented in Lineage II. Set a limited number of skills to cycle between them and an auto-target after a target is dead and looted. Would be funny if you target Omega.

NC has decided to implement this auto-hunting feature in all their games. It's making sense since XP is harder to come by and cube drops are hard to get, but these are problems they created artificially. This feature is probably the reason we won't see world drops, or the bots will swarm again.

Thanks. I never had the curiosity to let the box stay for long. It makes sense because the loot is individual. So it's a scam whey they say they sell the necklace.

There are messages on Storm about selling the necklace.

Is it possible to let the loot box go on for so long that someone new can come and loot it, just like the other instances? Never tried and it's also individual loot, so how this would actually work? Otherwise it's a plain scam.

Burning altar makes more sense if you don't have the whole set but there must be a reason why KR players choose to go with this set and complete with burning altar accessories. Could be one of those item collection things that I haven't bothered to look at, or another change.

Another issue that I see is the new map we will get in the future, some kind of underground Silentera. It's not server wide and it's the smallest map I've seen so far.

Was it not a Entry in Silentera wich ports you to the new map ?

Think i´ve seen it on YT

    It's inside Silentera.

Now looking at the video, I don't know why I had the impression that it's not server wide. Probably because I didn't see the KR players green tag (from the same server) farming there and no hourglass timer going down. So my mistake, this is server wide but the entrance is different than the rest.

It's one map that I really don't like it, very small with tight rooms and corridors and boss(es) that can one shot even the geared players roaming around.

late as usual but here it is:

    Some interesting points of view.

Anyway, I have to add that on paper, and giving the KR input and streams, they still put templar and cleric as generally the highest rated. Even those KR you show can form the wrong impression sometimes. For example Better/Accepter put certain videos on youtube but in his daily streams of arenas, he is usually getting beaten by templars quite often and that in fully defensive mode and sometimes in one rotation. The only way to beat templar with gladiator is with luck of procs. That class can also deal with more other classes than gladiator can deal with. Chanters with multiple sets can barely get any damage from dps classes and they can deal even with assassins.

So the more money you have for different gear stats and different manastones, odians +7/+8 as KR players have for certain skills, or runes +10 and so on, the better your class is. You can deal with certain classes differently in arena, because you can change gear, runes, odians, daeva skills. The tier list is dictated by money, rng of getting certain items and rng of skills. Too many variables imo. It's not like in the earlier days where each for example each assassin were a copy of another, with same gear, same stigma, same skills, almost the same stats.

About templar in pve, I still think it's useful for last boss in PW. You can grab the mobs and the group can stay in one spot to not get one shot, and aoe the mobs with the boss. It's also a safer choice for a group that is not max geared.

If cubes even dropped on the whole map and not just the last layer, near the forts.

In KR they brought more events for cubes, minionites or transformations, but no real change has been made, except that fusion of trash items where you can get some cubes.

Since we're quite behind in events, expect some of them in a year. The worst part is that events are tied up with the current patch, and we sometimes get items way too late or we no longer need in the current patch.

With every merge there was a visible less number of players on the new server than the total number from servers combined. I think some just straight quit after a merge. Could be language difference, could be fps, who knows.

Another issue that I see is the new map we will get in the future, some kind of underground Silentera. It's not server wide and it's the smallest map I've seen so far. That's also the place where you farm your quest items for the new gear, both asmos and elyos together.

Does anyone know if they run in Korea an event that gave starlight accs?

Imo that would be dumb. I guess failboat might be able to answer this question tho.

No real event that I know of, only promo ones (example) or shop.

So far KR players do the same as here, buy all the loot boxes from players who farmed the instance.

It's a minority of players who likes and install those voice packs. The majority use the default one. It's also not noob friendly to install them, having to deal with that with every maintenance when there is a patch. Putting these people in front or even mentioning them, as they are also the reason for changing this, it's a new kind of excuse imo. It looks like the choice was made for you.

But hypothetically, if there was a choice, why not make the choice to provide the game in EN/DE/FR, since we're in the EU and there are laws to assure it's one of those we will get? I know quite many players who dislike these high pitched and unintelligible voices.

I think he is talking about the 2sec cutscene with the NcSoft-Logo+sound that was added with this maintenance

Pretty much. It's a new cut scene with only NC, that was added with last maintenance. GF is still the publisher, otherwise we wouldn't be playing right now on their servers or write on their forum. I just don't understand this addition of extra stuff to load, when there are plenty of other things to fix in the game.

I'm more interested of why we have permanent KR sounds. At first I thought they ran out of funds and voice actors for new stuff added with new patches but even the old one are reverted, so there is some licence that expired or something similar. The care for this game is amazing. What's next, getting the UI in KR only? No wait, we already have KR text here and there and wrong translation.

While bard got some smaller buffs, SM got only small nerfs along the way. Patch after patch they lowered fears duration, lowered various debuff duration and the amount of it, lowered the amount of dispels and the amount of buffs to dispel, then lastly even added defenses to feared targets. They forgot about the pet part, as now it's almost unusable in pvp. I think it is still maintaining a decent position because of indirect buffs, from gear, transformation, minions, rune&odians, adding additional slots with +12 stigmas and obviously stronger stigmas at +15, just like any class.

If we go back further, the amount of nerfs is even bigger, but back then it was a really stupid class, just like sins, rangers, mr clerics, sorcs.

And sorc is now a vulnerable class, as in the past it was almost impossible as a melee to approach sorcs. They still melt you and can kill you in 2-3 skills if they got you off guard but now nobody is scared of sorc anymore. Too many classes got resists, dispels, teleport and jump skills, and if not, there are minions and items skills to cover you with that now. It's mostly indirect stuff that nerfed sorc, same as those things also toned down SM and other classes relying on debuffs in the past. At least sorc still has a good amount of stuns, as the rest are less reliable now.

There is no balance anymore. Important skills are hidden behind rng or paywall. Stigmas +15, enchanted runes&odians and having the right slots, daevanion skills enchant, weapon skills (lunaris and the HP skill, gl if no veteran), and collections&transformations. At least you can buy one essence every week, that might fail, but good luck farming 60 insignia a week for 2 of them, and that besides buying other items. Aside events like these that come quite rare, it's hard to farm stigmas or experience. Two of the same class are not even the same anymore and they might get different experiences. And after all that, forget gunners or sins, there are robust classes like gladiator and templar that have more defensive stats and skills than dps classes and can deal the same damage. This game makes no sense anymore.

Considering the rates are not so low, a whale can get a +9 rune and odian

    Gl with that

That wasn't my experience when I enchanted to +5. Now I'm getting worried that rng can be this bad.

Anyway, watching KR players, it seems that +10 is quite usual on runes, with some exceptions:

Some players do have maxed out those enchants.

Speaking of chanters, they seem impossible to kill, and not just the one above. I knew it from before 7.5. I've seen it on KR streams where full geared players couldn't make a dent in their HP, but seeing it live is another story. Clerics are less like that but still hard. I know assassins can be ridiculous, but that's a dps class, while templars can do more damage than a dps class and they are a very hard to kill compared with those dps classes that do less.

The little sense this game had is out of the window. For quite some time gear was more important, then stigmas and improved skills, transformations, collections and minions, now maxed out penetration skills and ridiculous odians. From what I've experienced, we already have assassins on EU that can stunlock from start to end. I guess with time, when players enchant their runes, we will see more like that with other classes, like chanters, templars and probably sorcs. It makes classes even dumber, as no strategy is required anymore, just smash away all those skills and the more skills amplified by penetration runes or odians you have, the better it is.

I don't disagree with you. I already mentioned that it would take an absurd amount of time to do that. I was comparing the two of them like if they were on equal income, having the same quantity of both, then rng seems to be on the same level.

For me neither is realistic. Getting level 5 is not not hard but I haven't done that on any other character because it takes too much time to play only on one character. There is dailies and weeklies on multiple maps, there are daily pvp instances, there is kinah and exp to be farmed, there are weekly pve instances, siege, and ultimately, there is always an event or two on top of everything. There are so many things that take so much time that realistically I have no time for alts. So if you farm only kinah in some instances on main, then of course it would be easier to just move kinah on account warehouse then buy stigma stones on alts. There aren't realistic choices to farm contracts on alts, aside from probably weekly finish and eso, while they implemented a lot more stuff to get the stigmas.

But I further argue that stigma stones was the main focus of everyone because it seems an easier goal to set. We had events that were giving stigma stones, we had players farming kinah, plus event kinah, and buying weekly stones on alts, we had players farming weekly luna on many alts and so on, that for a very long time. I was collecting stones since 5.x. On top of that we had an event giving +9 stigmas, which many used to trade stigmas from alt accounts (contracts can't be traded between accounts). We had multiple events setting the enchant rate higher and added safe spots to our region. Without the enchant events alone, not many player would have had +12/+15 today. It doesn't matter that you farm 1-2k stigma stones, as without enchant events it's pretty bad. I have burned a lot with the events and it was still very bad. We don't have events for contracts. We had one giving lots of white contracts in 6.2 and after that, just one ancient or one legendary here and there, in some random far apart events, or after that, these 1-2 months breath in the shop. But we don't have fusion rate events, nor the safe spots on fail as in NA, or their more options to farm contracts. If the same events and features that were applied to stigmas would be applied to transformations, then things would be looking differently, as rng is not much different than stigmas. I think this is why achieving stigmas is more realistic and looks easier, because we had the opportunity to brute force through stigma stones, with the help of enchanting events.

Not only that none was selectable so far, not even in the elite, but in the previous event I got only one (not even usable), while other got multiple of them. That's rng. Assuming everyone got the same amount then blame players for complaining, that's something else. It's a bit similar in the stigma situation where rng can really leave you with no progress, although you put in the effort all that time to gather the necessary items.

I can understand either side. In a way, it's pretty comparable the two of them. Right now, how do you generate kinah? I'm not talking about making kinah which everyone suggest, by selling stuff through broker and get preexisting kinah farmed by others through a broken event. The drops in instances seems awful, compared with the time invested. Kinah is once again not a big player in the game since everything seems to take insignia rather than kinah but the broker still deals in old currency. The point being, kinah is scarce if you didn't get to participate in that ganker event.

Convert your generated kinah to ingots and you can buy 2 stigmas every week. You need to farm kinah and buy 2 stigmas on multiple characters because 2 a week is incredibly low amount. There is also fame level for more but it's still low ammount. Just my own experience, I was burning through a stack of 80 stigma stones to get a single stigma from +12 to +15 and no success. Now imagine getting from 0 to +12, where rng can screw you as well. I had stack of stones since 5.x and enchanting since then. How many years is that? If you are new, you have a better chance at winning kaisinel at some random lamp event, rather than having +15 stigmas.

Contracts can be famed as well, if you put in the time, which is an absurd amount of time. Farm esoterrace on all 12 characters and get a yellow contract in one and a half months on each of them. Fusing them has a greater % than stigmas after +9. Then farm ariel or whatever fragments you get for your fame for legendary contract fragments each week. You get a free once, once every 2 months. Then there is more sources of green onces, every week.

Comparing the two of them now. Stigmas have to go through rng each step, same as fusing white to green to yellow and so on. You get more

stigma stones than contracts each week but stigmas have to go through 15 levels of enchanting while contracts are only going green/yellow/purple/red, although you need to burn 6 at a time. And you need at least 6 stigmas to be +15 to get your improved vision, then at least 3 more to get the nice effect from each improved, while ultimate transform you need only one to get it. If i was burning through hundreds of yellow contracts as I was burning through hundreds of stigmas to get them +15 from +9, the chance to get kaisinel would be pretty much the same, wouldn't you agree?

I have to disagree with some people here. Nothing was clear from the beginning about this event. We didn't get the pet, we didn't get a list, it was all confusion and many gave up right from the start. I don't blame them, as many events started like this and proved to be bad, and they didn't feel like going blindly into another one like that.

So right from the start, we got the announcement about the event but no actual usable info about it. There was said we would get a pet though a survey. We didn't get it. It was said we will get it through shop. Nope, we didn't get it once again. Official response, no date about when we will get it. Finally it arrived through the shop. Lets say this wasn't that big of a deal in the end but people who didn't inform themselves through other sources didn't know how or if the event will work. Players had to dig through various websites and find out themselves about the event. We found out that some did get the pet earlier on, because we could see the buff from it on some players. Players also found out there are daily rewards missing, although it was manastones/minionites/enchant stone at the start. Then players asked if these rewards they found on various websites are the ones we will get. Players got silence. Later, another official answer said that for quite some time the reward list isn't available anymore. Strange is, until recently, there was always a pdf with rewards on the events. I guess it's about further cutting down the costs. Then it was this randomly couple of weeks of afk, with no previous announcement when the event arrived, so that people would be stimulated to participate in it, because at the start it didn't look like players would get level 8.

It's like they pushed so hard to hide things from players and made them not participate into this event. Probably because it was a too good of an event and because of cutting down the costs they are unable to "customize" the rewards anymore. But players were right from the start. Who will go blindly and farm an event for a month without knowing what is the reward in the end?

Gameforge need to get their ducks in a row because this was coming after the the first week of patch, with poorly written patch notes, lots of bugs and lots of lag, so not a great start. In the big list of events, it's event after event that is broken and not working correctly for quite a long time now. As a disclaimer, no I'm not criticising the event but the management of it and the delivery of information about it. And no, it's not about me, as I did get level 7 just a few days ago, so I'm on the path to level 8, but others are not there and will not be and it's not their fault.

This event in NA was one of the best events they've had since 6.2. However idk how much they changed from the KR version/what GF version will look like. Gotta wait and see.

Considering the fact that nolife players farmed almost a legendary contract every week in NA for quite a long time, playing with all their alts, this event seems a bit meh for them. We had no morphing or anything custom, except the epic loot that you could farm in instances which meant nothing in the end. A lot of people there have tens of legendary transformations, but of course they are defeated by rng when it comes to ultimate and they now ask for ultimate transformations. We are far behind them and we are happy with scraps.

I've been hearing for 5 years "aion is dead, there are other more interesting mmorpg but everyone comes back to aion and abandons the mmorpg whose qualities they praised, why"? because aion is the best mmorpg of all time even if it has a lot of flaws

Anecdotal evidence is not real evidence. Just because everyone you know comes back, it doesn't happen to everyone.
