Also if you are already playing the game with a "siel aura from broker or bought by shop" and doing lots of stuff, you are much more inclined to go to the shop from time to time and get a skin or other stuff. While the sub fee just scares people away from even starting playing, dropping the population to -9999, specially in a game like Aion that looks really bad in general, has very bad reputation, outdated and so and so on..
I dont know, maybe whats happening in the game industry is hard to digest for people. Maybe League of Legends and many other mmos should go sub fee to earn more money. And btw all those games have 0 P2W XD.

1.x remastered Classic patch is when Aion Classic had the most players.

Aion started with good numbers because it was a launch, hype and a new game, but 1.* was problematic, very slow paced, buggy and a lot quit because of various reasons (slow updates was one).
I remember before Gameforge took over, in 2.5 patch, on Spatalos server you could do a faction player search and you had less than the maximum number that was allowed, so like 85 ppl online. (forgot what was the max)
The game was dying, very fast.
Being f2p revived it. I remember in 4.* there were 4000+ ppl online at one point.
So maybe miabuelasabiaq has a point.
To succeed and carry over the ppl playing on "other" servers the game has to be free.
There is no denying that the game would be more populated if it was free to play, but my concern would be the amount of bots and the amount of P2W they would need to add to make up their revenue.

The same model they are using for Retail, make Siel Aura work like a gold pack tradeable in the broker. That way theres gonna be decent populated server/s for you to enjoy, more players, and more income for GF.
And even like that is gonna die in some years (because its Aion), but if you wanna play on dead servers since month 1-2. Then vote for sub, its not like your gonna get more content, better quality content or direct talking to the devs for paying a sub.
There is no denying that the game would be more populated if it was free to play, but my concern would be the amount of bots and the amount of P2W they would need to add to make up their revenue.
Free to play has been a major success for most MMo, but is there any F2P MMO that kept their playerbase in the long run ?
Guild Wars 2, The Elder Scrolls Online, Star Wars the Old Republic, Runescape, New World, Lost Ark, Destiny 2, Black Dessert Online, Warframe, Path Of Exile... etc etc...
I just named you 10 MMORPGS that are Free to Play, Buy to Play or a mix of both (without sub fee). All those titles and many more are more succesful than Aion and have kept their playerbase for years or decades already.

Considering WoW had it's highest number of players worldwide in later expansions rather than at launch pretty much destroys your sarcastic response to Kotoro.
Take a look at any other mismanaged mmo and you will see they all had less players than when the game launched. The exception to this rule is WoW with "Wrath of the Lich King" and much later with "Legion" expansions. These were considered to be heading in the direction players wanted and that was reflected in the game peaking on players again at a higher number than initial launch.

I dont understand your point. Yeah F2P/B2P or a mix of both, they dont have a subscription fee (neither P2W). And ive explained b4 i would rather put 30/50 euros in a copy of a game to play forever than having to pay 15 euros a month on top of that, specially for a game like Aion.

I dont know the amount of players that WoW had on launch day. But if you think that WoW had less players in 2005-2012 (that would be like classic wow) than now, then you are completly wrong.
WoW have to compete with loads of other mmorpgs right now and since years, and nowadays the market is much more spread. WoW will never go back to the numbers of the glory days, thats why they dont even post the active players/sub fees they have since ages.
And you can search that up even, i think their peak was around 2010-2011 with 12 million subscribers. And nowadays if they have 3-5 million subscribers they are lucky.
So yeah saying that WoW have more players now than in the old days its kinda a joke.

You want to completely get rid of any sub, and have the game exactly as it was when GF took over at 2.7? Means if you have no gold pack, you basically cannot play the game.
But... does not that mean if they just had a system to buy Siel's Aura with kinah, then it would be exactly the same, actually better because you have free siel/gold pack for 2 hours a day? I am actually not even sure if you can like gift/buy Siel's Aura in classic. I shall look into that.

Besh rush, occasionaly pvp at entrance if groupe have the same timing no one will camp silentera for PvP.
The worst will be when we will get 2.4.
You do your weekly Besh + Udas then you can afk for Dredgion after daily.
No more interactive PvPvE as it was in 1.x.
Mostly people will rush their CD early week and afk the rest or afk early week and do all their CD at once.
The majority is asking to have 1.x experience before ending up on those nerf patch pleasing you or not.

You know that the population ''dropped'' drastically after 1.9 cuz they started to do smth against bots? befor 2.0/2.x krs population were like 30-40% bots, u could even see it on their streams xD not hard to guess that the population was decreasing after removing 1h of free aura/day in kr so bots had it way harder than befor xd imo i would pref 1.7 or 1.9 as start patch aswell but you are just crazy, spamming 24/7 in forum and any discord about 1.x and 2.x like 90% of the day, get some breath dud
