Mouse stuttering windows 10

  • Lately, I have started to face mouse stuttering on Aion. This issue is a game side that does not support mouse frequencies higher than 500Mhz. Even I did lower my mouse frequencies to 250Mhz has the same issue. I do not face this issue with other games. This tells me the game is outdated regarding this aspect.

  • Its an Nvidia graphic cards driver problem. You need to downgrade your graphic drivers to version 457.51

I had the same problem and figured out that it works fine with it.

  • Hey

What is the version of your Nvidia driver?

Had this problem until very recently (457.51 was the latest version where I had no problem, and until version 461.92 (16.03.21), couldn't update it or I had mouse flickering and game freezing after 30min of playing)

Its an Nvidia graphic cards driver problem. You need to downgrade your graphic drivers to version 457.51

Try the latest version, there was a fix in it, maybe it'll work for you too.

  • Played for the last 1h with version 457.51 and seems to be ok.

    Thank you for your feedback.

My question is if also is not a client issue being outdated and not keeping with the new drivers. I do not have this issue on other games and this tells me that might be an issue also on the client-side.

  • The problem is "Aion is an old game" and it's not the first time nvidia driver & the client seemed to be in conflict.

The drivers are mostly made for the newest games, and issue like this one (since november!) takes more time to be fixed than for a new game.

I read somewhere on a French website about Nvidia driver changelog that new updates resolving this flickering should be there soon.

Try regurlarly new driver update 'til you have one working correctly. (but keep version 457.51 somewhere on your computer)

  • For now soft fix is to set mouse polling rate lowest possible like 125 or lower ( the fps are still lost but much less than before), for fix it 100% : Start > mouse setting > click on additional mouse options > navigate to the pointer options tab > here enable show pointer trails and adjust it to short. You can enable and disable only when play.

  • You should use alternate method like this instead of downgrading your driver. Vulnerability has been discover on driver < 461.09.

If downgrading your driver is not an option simply force close the NVidia Container via taskmanager. That fixes it temporarily.
