  • But if the timing is what your focusing on then your doing it wrong, even if that's correct I don't see how that invalidates my argument aka, siege time is not representative of aion population on the contrary.

Funny, now we are already 2 who don´t see how my post invalidates your argument. Are you really that insecure about yourself that you try to find criticism on you in every post?

Maybe i missread ure post, i apologise then

  • I have a very different view from u, siege time is when it least matters IMO.

I find it hard to understand how in a mmo we suppose to think it only matters during such a short period of time. but if that's your view its fine.

I guess we have different definitions, but for me, a populated server is when I log in and I see people.

not when I have to wait for a specific time and day to see people.

You go to some private servers and u can see people all over the place no matter the hour. siege or no siege.

it's true i don't expect to see full servers after midnight, especially in aion anymore.

but i do expect to see people in the evening at least. if u compared back to 6.5 for example u could still find people in the maps, which isn't the case anymore hence proving the population decreased no matter the numbers during siege.

this is my reasoning behind the fact i dont consider siege to be the best way to measure aion population

  • I know a lot of people that will play.

It´s always amusing to read statements like this. Be honest, what is your definition of "a lot of"? 5? 10? 20?

My definition of "a lot of" would be several hundrets, but I don´t think you know several hundret people personally and everyone of them declared personally to you that she/he would play AION classic Europe.

"Play" is the next definition we have to talk about in this context. What is your definition of "play"? Is testing it out one or two times and then quit because don´t like already "play" in your definition? Or what else? One month? One year? Several years?

Who guarantees that these several hundrets of people will really play at least several months? You?

Questions over questions, but statements like yours are still funny anyways.

  • what's sad is that many people don't want a classic server in europe because they don't trust anymore gf and it's not even ncsoft the problem it's gf they don't trust...

Because I would like to know if gf at least admits to having made mistakes or not? maybe you can answer at this question Galeas do you think that gf has made mistakes in the past? (if yes which)

Because I've never seen gf admit to making mistakes (maybe im blind)

  • Well, that's some difference right there. In Korea, 7 packed servers launched months ago, one even reaching 100% it's capacity.

In NA, Siel reaching 10% of Katalam, which is the most populated. The servers are not even playable yet, people only creating characters.

  • ok. but i still don't see the point... from my pov. you are comparing with previous patches when you could see ppl on the map because there was something on that map.

lakrum had lots of bots 24/7 because of ancient drops and materials drops... or later added minion drops in some maps.

there is like no reasons to be on a map in 7.9... mobs are empty... quests give bad rewards. you have to farm things like dumaha sieges for frags and things like that to matter. aside from instance... sieges are basically the only thing that really matter anymore to get some value and where you can still see ppl on the map. after that ppl just farm instances on main and alts... so no reason to see ppl on the map. in the old aion everything mattered... you farmed mobs for ap... others for kinah... others for xp or balaur mats. there was a reason to see ppl around... and we didn't have that many instances that we had to spam.

and whatever argument or diff pov each one has... it comes down to one single thing. some ppl bother to log in... if it's for 30 minutes or a few hours it doesn't matter. mostly in that short time because they probably enjoy the most... and finished farming everything in the game or don't bother with the rest of farming and move to other things. i sure don't bother with a lot of other things because it's tedious to farm and in the end you get hit by rng and all your work is invalidated. so i still log in but for some things i can control.

anyway... imo ppl have a slightly biased perception of this because 10-12 years ago they were young or students and had all the time in the world to spend in aion. they expect ppl from today to spend the same amount of time in the game... 6 or 10 or 16 hours. but ppl still playing today are the same but older and with less free time and other priorities in life... even if they still play aion. there is no new ppl in aion... it's the same old ppl. new ppl playing gamew go to other games not aion. even in classic ppl will spend less time than in the past for the same reason... life got in the way.

for the same reason you don't see many ppl in the morning or afternoons... they are no longer kids or students with free time... some have work or whatever... and there is no new blood in this game. of course... all that besides game being dead because of the obvious reasons... p2w... bad events... and the game being left aside by ncsoft... with patches more rare each year... and because it's summer time right now.

that's some difference... but don't expect na with 2 empty live servers as korea to reach 7 packed classic servers. the same thing will not repeat in na or eu or ru. koreans are koreans and like more their kind of games... the youngsters too. our players trying classic are mostly ppl that tried aion in the past... newer players are like... eww aion.

  • you make some good arguments and I agree with most of what u said, but I'm not pointing out why there are fewer people, just that there are fewer people and how i reached that conclusion. I didn't think you would disagree with that statement. oh well...

They can always decide to win our trust back. Implement a proper subscription model with only cosmetics in a cash shop and I'll be down to play in EU. I'm already looking at that deava pass over in NA being like, this will just be the next P2W implementation on top of a 15 euro a month sub. The greed is just too severe.

Leave the economy alone as much as possible. No consumes/scrolls/titles/candy's with the swipe of a credit card. That should be earned through playing the game.

  • I wonder what percentage of bots on classic servers

  • I dare to say aion being dead game have little to do with a classic.

pretty much this. the amount of posts on this forum since years ago should be enough source of understanding why ppl left this game.

this is the most active thread because of how controversial the whole thing is. others feel the need to qq because they don't get a classic and demanding an answer. we already know what 7.9 part 2 brings and we know what 8.0 brings and that it will come later this year... there isn't much to talk about. oh yeah... let's talk about how exiting it is to log in... grab my kaisinel powder... do my daily lugbug and log out.

Don't need to be a sunday à 7am just take any hours even the one when it's time for RvR the playerbase is just low it's a fact. at 9pm on steam (only) they just count 250 players for the entire EU. It should be 2 000 +.

and AionOnline is always à like 20% of max capacity and they count Steam + launchers players you have like what... 500 to 600 players not even on each servers....

  • hell if NCsoft does not want to give classic to GF to run it due to these tech issue they could always get NCwest to rent some servers in the UK and run it there, the UK is not part of the EU now so there would not be a contract in place.

The problem in the contract of ncsoft/gf only gf can publish a classic server in Europe if im not wrong and i doubt gf will let ncsoft run a classic server in Europe.

(And even if the servers are in UK)

  • I dont understand the people that are whining over a 100ms ping and calling themselves "competitive" at the same time. lol wtf ... a dedicated pvp player would [...] on a 100 ping (because its not that bad at all) and try to balance pvp with his own, personal skill. such a whiny attitude. Imagine a runner would say "oh I cant ever be a runner because I am 10cm too small"... [...] that

You will always lose with 100 ms against a player with 10-20 ms if both players are on the same level. just facts, as a pvp player I would never play with 100 ms, just cuz of the fact u will lose against every decent player with 10-20 ms.
