Worth it to download Aion again

    Farm "like crazy" won't give you any max. Daeva Skills or Stigma on +15, which is the level of most the "rest".

    If you fix it to "make aion a full time job with 8h a day on multiple character" and "never miss any event" to maybe/perhaps/eventually catch up to the "rest", then I would agree with that.

    In the end it depends on what level you want to catch up. But hell no you won't be able to recover as a beginner to the level needed to compete with other players. :)

    I downloaded it again after a 4 year break, it was totally different. The first time I reached level 77, so I didn't even started endgame, which is the best part. This time, I've been playing. for 3.5 months.


    First thing first, I like the game as it is, making a focus in the game. The part in which you develop your character little by little, with time and effort, is just great. I have been playing it for free, 2 hours a day, with 2 characters only, sometimes I stop playing for a week. You get the idea, with all the limitations.


    However, there is this factor in which it's difficult to get certain stuff without paying. In fact, it's difficult because it requires a lot of time and effort and even if you pay, then it comes the luck., the RNG factor. That part of the game is nor for all people, because you have to suffer that for a long period in order to compete. It becomes irritating, then annoying and finally frustrating.


    So, here my conclusion:

    Is it worth to download it again? Yes, the game itself is good.


    Now, if you have these 3 thing, you can make it more enjoyable:


    1- Be mentally prepared to many failures for a period of time.

    2- Willing to spend some time, effort and money during a period.

    3- Not care about the time you will need to compete and follow your rhythm.

    No - to MMORPGs generally and to korean MMORPGs specifically.


    The Genre is dying for several reasons - even the popular P2P- and B2P-titles have their respective problems. Korean MMORPGs are a case for themselves: Overbearing P2W and RNG, uninnovative game design, the lack of gameplay variety due to a strong focus on grinding, etc. Even "western" MMORPGs aren't that well off nowadays. WoW suffers from severe elitism and a developer that doesn't understand its target audience. FFXIV suffers from a severely low start into the game (meaning: you have to play several months to even reach proper content). GW2 suffers from being too casual - casual to the point that it's affecting basic game design. Hell, the only game that's somewhat well off is probably ESO.


    Aion takes the cake. Korea long since abandoned PC as gaming platform and is focussing on developing smartphone games. There are very few exceptions of course - like Blueholes (known for TERA and PUBG) Elyon - but that's all they are: exceptions. The result of abandoning the PC-platform is the devolution of PC-MMORPGs. Aion specifically suffered from the implementation of overbearing and almost smartphone-like (P2W-) monetization and uninnovative and lazy game design. While the P2W-aspect is - surprisingly - somewhat alleviated by Gameforge, the game design aspect isn't. On a fundamental gameplay level, the game got heavily casualized. Contrary to that, the progression aspect is very, very, very hardcore - especially so since it's heavily RNG-reliant. Like Triggerhead already stated, you have to regard Aion as job in order to catch up to a reasonable level, meaning stuff like +15 deavanion-skills, +15 stigma, a proper legendary transformation as baseline gameplay requirement, gear, etc. Additionally, you have to put a lot of effort into the social aspect of the game since the community itself got heavily segregated due to the aforementioned casualization.


    In good conscience, I can't recommend playing Aion - as well as any other korean MMORPG.

    Might as well have been 2-3 years, don't really remember exactly. Back then the fire temple was a popular instance and I got to spend days after days upgrading the essensetapping and cooking skills to level 499, a pain in the ass. The last thing I remember is that my account got banned for some reason. Tried to play it agan some months later but game was not compatible with my graphics card.


    This year I gave it another try and, for the worst or the better, I like the game. It's very suggestive about spending money in it and I could spend some, but decided not to do it. I keep dying a lot, still not able to win a 1v1 match, but is enjoyable (for me, at least) that before I got killed with 1 hit and now with 8-10.

    AionRetailFanGirl99 asked you this not to mock you or something. But the until you reach level 80, the game is in a somewhat introduction phase.

    Hence why the gameplay between level 1 - 79,99% is a different one than 79,99 - 80. Hence² why you can't judge the game by the leveling process, since it is to be "judged" separately. :)

    Beside, the process of leveling takes several hours to finish and its done...not sure if rating that phase is meaningful in this topic at all.

    Yes, I strongly recommend this MMO over anything else that exists or will even exist in close future. People complaining about this game being p2w are just players that cannot develop in game due to lack of knowledge and/or skill and [...] by being defeated by everyone else in game, period. I am a full f2p player... I do play competitive specially pvp but pve as well without any problems. I have +15 stigmas and gear, daevanions almost +15 all of them that I need since I rerolled in 7.3 to a new char and still working on it and even ultimate form. All of this I got from playing during events and just simply playing the game itself and free to play as I already specified... I do buy skins sometimes from shop and inventory expansions which are not necessary but well skins are my weakness... So well I am the living example that game can be played free without any problems... you can of course support the game you love it or if you want so but each patch can be chosen and can lead you to a very pleasant end game and lots of fun... Aion was and will always be a really great game with a really amazing pvp system and a warm and welcoming graphic worthy of spending your free time into it. Don't sweat it, play for fun and you will reach higher... that's like a hint for your progress but do participate in events and focus on your development on one thing at once and you will be ok! If you like the game of course... Cheers and have fun in this great game because in the end fun is what is the most important, isn't it?! :)

    Cool, you got heavily carried by rng. Hence you think everyone can do that because you did it without paying.

    Well, enjoy the game, but avoid lying to other people please, I highly doubt many people had the luck to make almost all daevanions +15 from the few free essences we got (maybe 4/5, but far from 12), neither the kinah necessary to buy enough stigma stones for full +15 unless they were here at the chest event.

    And above all, ultimate transformations, this is pure rng, cool you got it, you got super lucky again, i'm at 38 fusions of 2 legendaries and 1 fusion of 6 legendaries, I still don't have ulti form, not even an apostle for my class, and not even weda for collections, so don't go sell fake hope to people who might be tricked and believe they gonna get everything like you just because you got extremely lucky.

    Unfotrunately gameforge deleted the one and only good playerfriendly system in this game - bye bye OW drops. So as a new player you can forget about minion s. Taking into account how many leg forms we are getting in events or through playing, it will take 1 year or more to get 2 duplicates to try and fuse ult form (2% chance to get one, good luck. What im even talking here, even after 1 year you can prolly forget about apostle for your class. Kinah? Kinah income was nerfed (additional instance drops were removed kekek), and that means no stigmas+9/10/15 because no money to buy stigma ench stones from gold sand shop on twinks/additional accounts.


    This game is not going in the right direction for some time now.

    7.5 is the worst ever possible patch ever made.


    And they told us they adapt the patch to EU , custom stuff etc...all useless attempts without anything worthwhile.


    They dont listen to our feedback at all... only decent even was Stormwing, they could have made that PERMANENTLY but hell no why help the playerbase...

    If a p2w guy achieves instantly something that a f2p guy achieves after months or years of gameplay, it's not p2w in your opinion? You have ultimate form by f2p? I believe you, good for you, but how many others had the same luck as you? Or you think that every ultimate form you see in this game got acquired by grinding and tryhard f2p? Nobody said you can't progress while f2p, but as f2p you will always be left behind in every endgame goal from the guys that p2w. If you can't really see the impact this p2w system has in aion then what can i say...

    Yeah so much fun in endgame, bugs, lag, imbalanced classes, getting 2shot even if you have endgame gear, hard to participate in all siege forts because of players limit in rifts, toxic pvp that 8/10 fights end up in insulting opponents with translator and emotes spam, hackers and noanim guys that ToS seems to not be applied on them, non existence competition and classes with advance in ranking (aka instantly HP reward by kill something), non existense arena competition, recycled old maps, outdated graphics and a bad heavy engine that doesn't coop well with new rigs. And this is only the tip of the iceberg of the problems gameforge's aion has.

    After 3.5 months playing (not in an addict way), I have:

    - 1 legendary form, 1 collection

    - 1 level 4 minion

    - Cubes at 4%

    - 1 best pve gear +7 enchanted, the rest not best and +0 enchanted

    - 1 best pvp gear + 9 enchanted, the rest not best and +0 enchanted

    - stigmas +2 and +3

    - daevanion skills +2 and +3

    - bought first gold pack 2 weeks ago

    - produced 500 million kinah, of which I have 90 million right now

    - created a second character 3 weeks ago


    Most sad/frustrating moments:


    - Wasting enchantment stones gathered for 1 month and not being able to get one piece of gear to +15

    - Wasting all stormwing event stigma enchantment stones in one stigma, started in +2, ended in +1.

    - Wasting all my insignias of experience gathered for 2 months rerolling dumaha and katalam chests.

    - Wasting 9 ultimate manastones and only being able to socket 1, the broker got empty and my kinah gone.

    - When someone said, "Yolento, you have to leave" and the rest agreed, in stella laboratory.

    a few tips for you:

    don't enchant your stigmas from 0 to +9, save up kinah and buy +9/+12 from broker, much cheaper

    sell your enchantment stones by enchanting other people stigmas

    ask around friends in legion about the infamous lurker macro, no need to buy ulti manastones from broker

    Player base - we want less RNG and more rewarding gameplay

    Developers - we value your feedback and want to provide you with sense of pride and accomplishment by bringing .... RNG

    In 3 weeks:


    - I got all my stigmas +9/10 (I bought them from broker)

    - I got 100+ stigmas only from stormwing event

    - I got 3 rank A minion (1 level 4, 2 level 2)

    - I got full instense red Katalam +15 (legendary/ultimate manastones) high best re-roll stats.

    - I got Dumaha +15 weapon / Merciless +15 weapon

    - all my accesories dumaha (legendary/ultimate manastones) + makarna HM Bracelet

    - I got Kaisinel from Lower Udas Temple - lamps event (farming on every alts) I had super lucky RNG
