    In RU they use Frost and not Gameguard. It's an inhouse developed protection software that it works quite nice. It's not like gameguard crashing and slowing everything, and while everything in this world can be bypassed, this so far isn't bypassed by your average kids developing these known cheats for Aion. Probably another reason for why the game is empty on official RU.


    What logs? Either this data seems too big to be kept for one player, and imagine many thousands of players playing for many hours every day for weeks or a month, or they do keep the logs for a while but there is no tools for it to analyze it. If there were tools, we wouldn't have seen people cheating for years straight. Some keep their cheats private and only do it in their solo instances, away from others to see it. It's been happening since 1.x. Some are doing it since then and some got discovered only because of their mistake, greediness or a live and experienced GM watching and finding that something is fishy. Good for them there are no more live GM's in this game nowadays. And if there are no tools, why keep the logs that are not useful? And if there were official tools, they wouldn't have needed aidps in the past or myaion dps in the present to catch cheaters.


    It's obviously a subject that is way over their heads and don't know how to grab it. My only disappointment with this, after all this blah blah with legal matters and naming and shaming, which is a normal and generic defense response, is that they still show no real interest for it and only reacting to the community. We were not even once assured that the players listed will be investigated or looked into it, and other things like that. Some of them, like the top list, are blatantly doing it and not ashamed to admit it to friends. Some left legion on their own, knowing their guilt. It's been happening for a long time (years) and nothing was done about it, and the damage snowballed day after day. Today you do it for getting a piece of gear, ahead of others, tomorrow you do it to win a dredgion, the day after you win a ranking spot and remove a legit from there, after that you win altar with your transform and top dps for your legion and so on. I can't comprehend this lack of long term perspective and the damage that it can be done.


    Anyway, I propose this should be moved to another thread and let Livo post his updates.

    No, I mean about some reports where noani happens only on SOME (sometimes not particularily important) skills

    It was explained several times already that:

    1. We are not calculating 'ammo speed' to avoid false positives. That's why some range skills used on long distance will have higher speed. Range classes can be still detected on low distance or on skills without 'ammo speed'.

    2. People with low attack speed (like casters) and using 'noanim' on low settings might be detected only during attack speed buffs such as WoW/SoD. Once again it's because of tolerance to avoid false positives.


    If you have any question about any specific report you can contact me in private message. I have already answered and explained several reports. Most of people even admitted in the end that they were cheating.

    Livo did a good job with introducing Animation Speed, but giving advantages to some players by providing test version to closed players group looks like suspicious. This shady move undermine trust to website ranking too.


    Also there are no description how it is working on website. Report option should be more transparent to be used as evidence.

    And what exactly is the advantage they had? That they could stop cheating before they were listed in that HoF? And even if that would be true, why would it bother us? I don't expect GF to actually do stuff based on this. But as long as cheaters stop cheating because the community will exclude them from legions/groups/whatever otherwise that is already way more than we could hope for since aidps noani detection is gone.


    No idea why you should want people to release untested software, really. The amount of false positives would've been FAR worse than theoretically allowing a couple people to stop cheating before releasing it.

    Beta Versions are always tested by a close selected circle. That's how programming projects work since forever. Beside, the results were expected to a very big degree by other community members.

    This "undercover" mission was well executed and showed exactly what the tool is capable of.

    Afaik the page keeps the ID. Namechange isn't gonna get you out of that list. But that list is nothing we should talk about in specific according to Galeas. :)

    I doubt that. Unless you want to go through the effort of checking the complete HoF vs Soyto everytime someone applies to your group.

    Check HoF vs current playername is pretty much the most you can expect and there surely will be alot of people not even doing that.

    Nah, HoF will only get updated if a new valid report with same ID but different char name gets there. At least that's what Livo explained on stream.

    Hence: Stop cheating+Namechange and you're okay unless some people do the soyto stalking.

    The feature was probably tested in private before going live. Besides, this kind of thing is decided by the developer at their own discretion.


    For example, after being tested & approved in internal, the SNS Facebook often release their updates in New Zealand only for further test, and see public's reaction.

    Can you make also a ninja ranking list?

    Basically the conditions of someone getting a score would be:
    - Winning a roll of an item that doesn't match your class (magic classes winning war items, or winning weapons from a different class)
    - Getting 3-4 unique reports within 5(?) minute time frame from the people of the same group (Basically the score would go up by 1 only if the person got reported by the majority, this way it wouldn't be abused by one guy spamming reports. And it would also force people to download your app since that feature would require the majority of the group to use it in order for it to work (the ninja report function).

    Basically both conditions need to be met in order to get a score, maybe some more conditions to abuse-proof it

    Assassin can't really move the focus of this topic trying to explain how software development is done in this day and age. If you're a smart guy then stop acting like you are on the list and look up how a Dark Launch works. What Livo did is similar to that..
