I have a friend who have little question.
In may ncsoft will harden the tos of his games can it affect myaion too or not? because when i look the tos of ncsoft they said :
You will not attempt to interfere with, hack into, or decipher any transmissions to or from the servers or other facilities running the Services. You will not exploit any bug in the Services and you will not communicate the existence of any such exploitable bug (including bugs that grant the user unnatural or unintended benefits) either directly or through public posting, to any other user of the Services. You will not attempt to play one of our Games on any server that is not controlled or authorized by NCSOFT or its designees.
and they said also this in code of conduct
“We do not permit the use of any third-party software, tools, or programs that interact with the Services that give one player an unintended, unnatural, or unfair advantage over another player. Such prohibited third-party software, tools, or programs include those that alter Game-balance in favor of one player over another, automate actions within the Services, promote unattended gameplay, or have an adverse effect on other users of the Services. Prohibited third-party programs will be determined at our sole discretion."

Livo i quote again my post i don't know if you have see about it or if you don't have the answer at the moment

I think you are a bit lost in this matter. When you play the game, MyAion does not exploit anything or give you an advantage over others in battle grounds, group pvp or pve. MyAion does not discriminate ppl. This dps meter does not make ppl quit lol. How did we get from collecting data to discriminating ppl? Maybe report the ppl that actually discriminate you?
If someone is looking for good geared people, they find other ways to get them. I have no clue why you blame this specific dps meter when there's few out there and those have been used years to form premades and gathering stats of other players. Mods should just clean this thread because it's derailed a lot from the topic. Reminder that the developer collects some of this info and shows it on their own page in Korea. MyAion is just trying to bring those features to EU that the game developer provides in Korea.

I wanted to know if this could affect or not because a player plays aion with myaion but he just doesn't want to get banned it's just that he wanted know .
I'm not trying to blame myaion which is a software that helps a lot the community but just to be sure if after May 5th it will still be tolerated or not

Here is current statement about DPS meters:
Display MoreDPS Meters
These are currently tolerated, however any information gained from these tools will not be used as a valid claim in support tickets
Unless they do something else that is breaking the rules of course and we always reserve ourselves the right to change our mind anytime about such tools.
Using such tools is at your own risks, if there are any, and it is also the same regarding the data they can gather or use. We on our side have no control over it.
I'm sure that we will get informed if something gets changed in this matter.

Some people sure get offended for nothing.
I don't personally use myaion but it's still a great tool to have, I don't get why people feel the need to act like livo posted nudes of their wife by revealing your cubes and collections

No one will refuse you based on that, people only check the dps so this is a false problem. The real issue that no one will admit is that some people wanna hide their cubes and collections so they can flex their e-penis on people who don't while pretending they're competing on equal grounds. Or simply people being ashamed of their dps when they can't hide behind a "no cube/collection" excuse.
Both way it is something positive for the community, because people gets to know against what they're competing, and slackers gets to be exposed when they decide to go for a quick fap in the middle of the boss.
-
the worst part is that newer or inexperienced players are always avoided and never taken into groups because ppl want to finish instances faster and avoid possible delays. before dps meters ppl were going together with many randoms and explained things to others that were new and tried over and over again...
Same people who are recruiting now by watching your profile on MyAion, before dps meters they asked you to link your gear. It's not about available tools, it's about people and their attitude. If MyAion wouldn't be tolerated there are other tools. If you forbid all tools, same people who don't recruit new comers will go to previous methods and will ask you to link your gear.
link gear yes that was always the way but you cant link cubes, transforms, etc

I think you are wrong some people are just private and are hiding nothing.

In my experience, I'm getting discriminated much less since myaion.
Being asked to link gear, this was really awful - Solved
Being included in the group and then excluded - Solved
It was unfair not being able to check the other - Solved
Now you don't get discriminated directly, but indirectly. If you get accepted in groups, it's safe to say that you were checked before, that you also checked the group holder and that means higher probability of success.
Now, if we add the possibility of learning from others, check how your DPS is progressing and have a good looking profile of your character, we have a nice tool overall. It's absurd to complain about info of a game that:
1- It's public data.
2- It's not personal info.
3- It doesn't belong to you.

before dps meters
Must've been in ancient times considered that I started using ARM in 3.x. Myaion is neither the first dps meter nor the first ranking. This has been a part of Aion for quite a while now. Without you rely on connections or posting gear. Both doesn't make things easier or better in my opinion. Instead you'll have people stating "omg you only have ultimate +15 for Stella?"
Anyway, if I start elaborating on the obvious there'll be no end to it. I guess all of us experienced that not everything bases on MyAion. Sometimes to our disadvantage in fact.
Sirkka (if my mind is not playing some tricks on me right now) I think we need your how to use pverankings post from the old forums updated on this one
MyAion offers a chance to compare and to increase our own results by finding our flaws. I'm aware that people hardly do this, they'd rather say that they're discriminated or blame it on "cashers" - and certainly Aion did change it that aspect. You still have a chance though.
I really don´t know why Gameforge tolerates this kind of discrimination.
Discrimination? I have by no means the best gear, but I'm well-aware what my characters can do and what they don't. So I don't apply for instances they can't do.
I know would be a huge amount of work, but that would be a way, to prevent players from getting excluded.
Most players I know that I'd consider as a hindrance have perfect gear. Still you can evaluate players by lower instances as well. At least in regard of DPS or you'd think "after doing Ara EM xx times he might be able to do NM too" etc. Life ain't as simple. Luckily. However, without MyAion you can't do it and wait until you meet someone one day.
If you display my Kinah Livo I'll worry about people trying to flirt

1- It's public data.

Well just my 5cents about this...
I think its not about if its personal or not. When you browse any webpage, use flash or some other programs, you have the right to refuse/deny/prevent those softwares about getting (and specially storage) any data comming from your activity, in whole EU since 2011. As far as i know thats why you are getting "cookies consent" banner in every single webpage, doesnt matter if its a pacman flash game, a VOD platform, or the National Health Service..
1-Its public? not at all, its private. Maybe you dont have the rights, but thats doesnt make it public.
2-Its not personal info? Its not, but i think thats kinda out of discussion, if its about personal info, this guy would have the cops knocking his door right now, however before someone use 'your' (and its quoted on purpose) data, personal or not, there should be .. somehow.. a constent.
3-It doesnt belong to you. Well .. thats the controversial part , as we are not allowed to discuss about laws, i dont go further, btw.. realice that even if you sign a contract rejecting some of your legit rights... that part could be unlawfull and you could still demand them.
What about a consent option onthe program, and make it only able to upload the self data instead group/ally on? that way only people who actually agreeded about uploading their data would have it there .. and no one could feel injured about it.
But i guess that could make those website lose visitors or smth?
-
Actually, it is personal info, at least partially.
You have dates and timing in there. Which means you can correlate when and how much people play the game, and extract patterns out of it.
Based on the fact that some transformation contract, or piece of equipment could only be obtained using real money given a date, you can also get to know who is spending money on the game, yet another personal information.Regarding discrimination, given that people only take you in instance if they can verify that you already did it once, and made a minimum amount of damage, I don't know what it is if it is not discrimination ;). DPS meters made the discrimination systemic.

No. cookie consent is if you allow websites to STORE and READ cookies on/from your PC. It has nothing to do with websites tracking your activity.
1-Its public? not at all, its private. Maybe you dont have the rights, but thats doesnt make it public.
It is. It's as if I were to stand in the middle of the road and track what people passing me are wearing and posting my findings on some website. I'm not going to anyone's home, I'm in a public space.
3-It doesnt belong to you. Well .. thats the controversial part , as we are not allowed to discuss about laws, i dont go further, btw.. realice that even if you sign a contract rejecting some of your legit rights... that part could be unlawfull and you could still demand them.
Do you know why ALL accounts (characters) were transferred to GF when NC sold Aion to them regardless of people opting in or not?
Because the only personal data that belongs to you is your email used to register. That part was not transferred if you didn't opt-in. Characters and all details associated with them do not belong to you. -
This offtopic should stop. Your problem is with the player that uploads the data, not with myAion so track down that player (if u can lol) and argue with him.
If GF and/or any other publisher will state that they no longer tolerate dps meters then the project will most likely stop.
-
Well, let's put it simply.
Myaion does not upload gear info when the detail are not opened ingame.
Looks like player choice is respected in this matter.
Cubus and transformation collection are not opened ingame.
And not a damn is given about player consent or not. In fact, he is forced to upload those data in exchange of the pve sessions service.
Why just not apply the same?
-
Hello,
As already said previously, please stay on the topic instead of digressing : "MyAion DPS, updates, question about functioning and asking about possible modification".
Gameforge, through Galeas, already gave their point of view concerning this topic.
Any further discussion about laws and data ownership will be removed.
Have a good day,
Kind regards,
Isobel

Well, I was just talking about a way of functioning of myaion.
If "Hide details" option is checked by the player : dont upload data except instance session run.
If unchecked, upload whatever you want (cubus/transformation/gear/pets/daevanions and so on) at pve session run upload.
Note : data update should only occurs when "Hide details" is unchecked. So myaion may have olddated data (so you shall display date of upload)
-
The player choice is always respected. If you don't want to see your cubus and collections online for everyone to see, don't use myaion.
Simple solution, solve all the problems at once.
Now stop trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.
