Reorientation Event

Have you ever wondered how your adventures would have gone if you’d made a different choice when selecting your class? Ever imagine how it might have been to enter battle wearing shining plates of steel armour, instead of your flowing magical robes?

Thanks to the Reorientation Event, you now have the chance to find out!

Running: 8th April (9 AM) to 22nd April (8:59 AM CEST)

Class Change Requirements

In order to change your character’s class, you need to have reached level 60. You can immediately exchange eternal level-55 gear at the same time, so you can hit the ground running with your new destiny! Similarly the skills of your new class will also be available immediately.

Between 8th April (9 AM) and 22nd April (8:59 AM CEST), you can purchase two class changes per account for 2,000 Quna each. Each additional item of gear costs an extra 300 Quna.

Please note that you cannot reverse a class change once you’ve made it!

How It Works

Head to Sanctum or Pandaemonium and make sure you’re wearing the gear you want to exchange and that it has been soulbound. Then click on the class change button in the top-right next to AION Look. Next, choose the class you want to switch to.

Then click all the gear slots where you have equipment you want to exchange; the slots you’ve selected will be marked with a little tick. Incidentally, equipment items keep their enchantment level, sanctification, as well as any socketed manastones and Godstones! However, any armsfusion applied to two-handed weapons or changed appearances will be lost.

Now click the + button to add the items you want to exchange. You can choose up to 5 items per slot. Afterwards you will see an overview of the costs of your class change. Generally this costs 2,000 Quna, which covers 1 weapon, 5 armour items, 7 accessories, 1 set of wings and 1 Arcamant.

Each additional equipment item you want to exchange will cost 300 Quna.

Stigmas and certain skill books will not be automatically changed and applied to your character, instead you receive the following items:

• Class Change Support Chest IV
• Skill Book Selection Box (Level 69) (depending on the number of skills your character had before)
• [Event] High-level Skill Book/Stigma Selection Box (depending on the number of skills your character had before)

Finally, you’ll get a screen where you can see your new character in all their glory. Once you confirm the change, you’ll find a Class Change Support Chest IV with your new equipment and a stigma in your inventory.

Class Change Details

Character

First click on the emblem of the class you want to switch to in the class change window. You must choose a class different to your current class.

Equipment

When changing class you can swap up to 5 sets of gear. You can select up to 5 items per slot, allowing you to determine exactly which items to replace.

Caution: Be sure to select appropriate equipment (e.g. the Sorcerer wears cloth armour, the Chanter chain armour etc.)!

The equipment exchange is only for eternal gear of level 55+. The items must be soulbound, as items that are not soulbound cannot be confirmed in the equipment list. The equipment swap is not available for Enraged Agent’s gear.

Important conditions before/after swapping:

• When an item is replaced when changing class, the item’s enchantment level, socketed manastones/godstones and its sanctification will be transferred to the replacement item.
• Any two-handed weapon armsfusion and all applied appearance details will be lost.
• All of these details can be viewed and checked in the interface when selecting replacement gear.

Skills

On changing class, all common skills learned before the change will remain, but all class-specific skills will be removed.

That means general class-agnostic skills like Return or Quick Glide remain available after the change. Skills tied to the class such as attack/combat skills, however, will be deleted, even if they were learned from various game contents.

Stigmas will be removed after changing class, and stigmas which do not match the new class can no longer be used.

A Class Change Support Chest IV will however be provided. Using this chest grants you a total of 4 Stigma Selection Boxes from which you can pick the stigmas you want. (Meta stigmas are not included.)

Level 69 skill books and advanced skill books will be deleted but replaced with the following items:

• Skill Book Selection Box (Level 69)
• [Event] High-level Skill Book/Stigma Selection Box

If the character has level-69 skills or advanced skills which aren’t automatically learned on changing class, and these are deleted through the switch, you will need to contact the AION Support team to receive the equivalent skill books afterwards.

Special Cases

• If you have the level-69 Overcharge Explosion or Fighting Spirit stigma skills, these will not be deleted, hence no Skill Book Selection Box (Level 69) will be provided. These two stigma skills can be converted into other skills using Siel’s Hammer/Anvil.
• If you have any advanced stigma skills, these will not be deleted, hence you will not receive an [Event] High-level Skill Book/Stigma Selection Box.
• If you have any advanced skills learned from skill books which are deleted by changing class, you receive a Skill Book Selection Box (Level 69) and an [Event] High-level Skill Book/Stigma Selection Box.
• In cases like the Ranger class, where multiple skills are deleted, the number of selection boxes provided will match the number of skills removed.

Daevas,

Over the last few days, we received reports mentioning that two changes were not enough for the Class change event. Many also found the initial news post confusing regarding this number. Following your feedback, we have decided to increase the limit of possible changes.

After the next maintenance (15.04), Daevas will be able to use the Class change function a third time. This additional charge is not free, and will cost the normal amount of Qunas.
