Server Outages

  • So this weekend it started well... Saturday the Atreia server was down for over 5 hours. When it came back up finally it wasn't long and it was taken down for emergency maintenance. At this time lots of people were in instances.... and they were lost.


    Tahbata then was taken down.... I suspect the same instances lost on that server.


    Not 20 minutes after Atreia was up again - with people chancing instances the server again went down. So multiple instances lost..... the chat was quite entertaining with the comments when people finally got back, especially those who were on the final boss of an instance when taken from them.


    Head to Sunday - again server outages... again complaints of lost instances.


    So the server uptime was pretty much like the pitiful drop rate - extremely poor. What does a support ticket get you? Nowhere just that have to put up with it and "IF" Gameforge choose to do any compensation they would look for all.


    Now this is the interesting part... we PAY for access to a game, we get no communications and we just have to accept this. Up the drop rate, reset instances on server restarts like the OLD DAYS so we don't suffer this instance limitation and lose out on our only real chance of drops in the game as the open world drop rate of 0.00001% is bad.

    Apply to Gameforge, if you can do it better or know it better, it won't happen again in the future. ;)

    when did you have 7 hours + downtime at the weekend?

    I experienced some minutes. I dont count the "downtime" on friday night, cause it was at 4 am, if I´m right, that isn´t "Peak" time

    5 odd hours isn't 3 minutes...

    was 3 minutes for me when i played, and 5 odd hours arent that big of a deal, most games require normal maintenance and some of it happen when you dont expect, anyone who ever played an mmorpg can testify, lets not make a big deal of 5 hours during a weekend one time.

  • Not counting the planned maintenance time:


    Since the game was released: ~1.38% (5h of downtime / (15 days since launch * 24 hours)) of the time the game was down due to "server outages"


    In a year scale: ~0.06% (assuming no more issues)


    I agree it's not alot in a big picture, but it's quite concerning how rough the launch of the game was/is.
